OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has declared that humanity has already crossed into the long-feared artificial intelligence “singularity,” claiming the world is now entering an era where AI will rapidly outpace human capabilities.

Altman made the bombshell declaration during an appearance on the Relentless podcast, insisting the moment researchers once joked about has now become reality.

The singularity is widely described as the point at which artificial intelligence begins improving itself faster than humans can understand or control, potentially leading to the emergence of a superintelligent system that surpasses mankind.

Altman’s latest remarks come as OpenAI is facing growing scrutiny over extraordinary claims about the capabilities of its own AI models.

Altman: ‘We Are Now in the Singularity’

“We are now, like, in the singularity,” Altman said.

“Now we’re actually in the moment that we used to talk about at the lunch table in a very not-serious way.

“I’ve been waiting for this my whole life, and I think it’s going to be incredible, hugely positive, awesome for the world.”

The comments echo Altman’s blog post published almost exactly one year ago, titled “The Gentle Singularity,” in which he argued that humanity had already passed “the event horizon” and that the race toward artificial superintelligence had begun.

The OpenAI chief has repeatedly argued that superintelligent AI is no longer a distant possibility but an approaching reality.

OpenAI Claims AI Models Broke Out of Testing Environment

Altman’s latest warning comes just days after OpenAI claimed several of its AI models, including GPT-5.6 Sol and an unnamed pre-release system, escaped their research environment.

The AI models reportedly gained Internet access and hacked into an external database while attempting to complete cybersecurity tests.

According to OpenAI, the models infiltrated a database operated by open-source AI platform Hugging Face.

Hugging Face confirmed that it experienced an intrusion carried out by “an autonomous agent framework executing many thousands of individual actions.”

The incident immediately fueled fresh concerns about how advanced today’s AI systems have become.

Some observers compared the episode to Anthropic’s so-called “Mythos moment,” when one of that company’s AI models reportedly broke out of its testing environment in a similar fashion.

That earlier incident drew criticism from skeptics who accused Anthropic of using fear-based marketing to promote its technology.

OpenAI is now facing similar accusations, with critics questioning whether the latest episode is being used to generate headlines and reinforce claims that AI is rapidly approaching superintelligence.

AI Companies Escalate Warnings

The latest claims also arrive amid increasingly dire warnings from major AI developers about the pace of artificial intelligence.

Anthropic recently called for a global pause in AI development, arguing the technology is moving toward recursive self-improvement, the ability for AI systems to continually enhance themselves without human intervention.

Altman, however, distanced himself from what he portrayed as more alarmist messaging from rival companies.

“I also think some of the alternative visions painted by other companies are quite terrifying,” Altman said.

“I’m going to make sure that gets pushed against and is not what happens.”

Americans may be consuming abortion drugs through their drinking water without knowing it, according to a new peer-reviewed study that detected “significant levels” of mifepristone in nearly every group of municipal water samples tested.

The two-year study, titled “Anti-Progesterone in Environmental Water,” found what researchers described as “significant levels” of the abortion drug in water collected from several municipal sources.

The findings raise serious questions about whether the rapid expansion of chemical abortions is contaminating America’s water supply and potentially threatening fertility, pregnancy, and fetal development.

Mifepristone Found in Nearly Every Sample Group

The study was published in Issues in Law & Medicine.

Researchers detected “significant levels of mifepristone (up to 0.041 μgram/l) in the water of all but one of the nine sampling classes.”

“Because of the plethora of effects of progesterone, this contaminant could affect the physiology of aquatic animals and human health, including fertility, pregnancy and fetal development,” the study’s authors warned.

The research was overseen by Elise Rose, who holds a doctorate in agronomy and works as a researcher at the Charlotte Lozier Institute.

An unaffiliated laboratory in the Netherlands tested the samples after researchers submitted them “blind (without source identification).”

That process prevented the laboratory from knowing where the samples originated while conducting the analysis.

The findings arrive as the use of abortion pills has surged since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022 and as the United States continues to confront widespread fertility problems.

Researchers Say Officials Demanded Proof

The study was funded by Charitable Allies, the legal group that represents Students for Life of America.

Critics are expected to attack the research because it was conducted by pro-life investigators, but Students for Life says the results demonstrate that mifepristone can be detected and monitored in public water supplies.

“We were told we had to prove mifepristone was in the water in the U.S. to get anyone to care,” Students for Life Executive Vice President Tina Whittington said in a news release.

Whittington said the organization struggled to find laboratories willing to conduct the testing.

“On our own, we started to reach out to water testing companies only to have our business declined,” Whittington said.

“Our frustration became inspiration for this group to find the path to test our drinking water, and while we have been vindicated, I hope the larger response is urgency to clean up our water.

“The harm to endangered species and potentially the human harm is incalculable.”

Students for Life argues that mifepristone should be treated as a “forever chemical” and monitored by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Thousands of people have reportedly called on the EPA to begin testing water supplies for abortion drugs.

“One concern about an endocrine blocker in the water is whether it’s a factor in the infertility crisis impacting America,” the organization noted.

Pressure Mounts on Trump Administration

The study has reportedly been submitted to the EPA for consideration, increasing pressure on the Trump administration to investigate the presence of abortion drugs in America’s water supply.

Republican lawmakers and attorneys general have backed efforts to force the federal government to monitor mifepristone as an environmental contaminant.

Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins said the burden now falls on abortion advocates to conduct their own testing and challenge the results.

The House has voted to cut off all U.S. financial assistance to Nigeria until the country takes effective action to stop the mass killing, abduction, and persecution of Christians.

Lawmakers passed the State Department appropriations bill on July 15 with language making aid contingent on the Nigerian government protecting victims, prosecuting perpetrators, and helping displaced communities return home.

The measure comes amid reports that Islamist groups have killed thousands of Christians, abducted thousands more, destroyed hundreds of churches, and forced women and children to convert to Islam.

Under H.R. 8595, no financial assistance can be provided to the Nigerian government until the Secretary of State certifies to congressional appropriators that Nigeria is “taking effective steps to prevent and respond to violence and hold perpetrators accountable.”

Nigeria must also demonstrate that it is “prioritizing resources to support victims of such violence, including internally displaced persons” and “actively facilitating the safe return, resettlement, and reconstruction of communities impacted by the violence.”

Republicans Move to Withhold 100 Percent of Aid

The original provision would have made half of Nigeria’s U.S. assistance contingent on taking those actions.

Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) introduced an amendment increasing the restriction to 100 percent.

“American taxpayers should NEVER bankroll governments that turn a blind eye while Christians are abducted, tortured, and murdered,” Steube said.

“No more wasteful foreign aid!”

Rep. Riley Moore (R-WV) said the legislation sends a direct message that the United States will not abandon persecuted Christians.

“Christians in Nigeria continue to endure horrific violence, murder, and persecution while a majority of the world turns a blind eye to their suffering,” Moore said.

“President Trump has taken bold actions to strike the terrorists in Nigeria, and this bill sends a clear message that the United States will continue to stand with persecuted Christians across the globe, especially in Nigeria.”

“This important bill also holds foreign governments accountable and ensures American taxpayer dollars advance our national interests.”

Thousands of Christians Killed and Abducted

Nigeria-based International Society for Civil Liberties & Rule of Law reported that Islamist groups killed 2,550 Christians and abducted 2,800 others between January and June 2026.

The groups identified in the report include Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province.

The same violence also claimed the lives of 1,050 Muslims, while another 1,150 Muslims were abducted.

The report found that 300 churches had been destroyed or abandoned during the first half of the year.

Twenty Christian pastors were killed or abducted, while an estimated 800 Christian women and children were forced to convert to Islam.

International Christian advocacy organization Open Doors ranks Nigeria as the seventh-most dangerous country in the world for Christians.

Nigeria accounted for 3,100 of the 4,476 Christians reported killed worldwide for their faith in 2024.

Government Accused of Failing to Protect Victims

Freedom House said Nigeria’s constitution formally protects religious freedom, but government authorities have imposed restrictions and failed to stop repeated attacks.

“Religious freedom is constitutionally protected, but the government has also embarked on crackdowns against religious groups that have questioned its authority,” the organization said.

“State and local governments have been known to endorse de facto official religions in their territory, placing limits on other religious activity.”

“A number of violent attacks on Christian worshippers and nonreligious individuals by Islamist militants and other armed groups have been reported in recent years.”

The State Department has also reported that Nigeria “sometimes took steps to investigate alleged human rights abuses by officials, but prosecution and punishment for such abuses was rare.”

A Nigerian federal court sentenced four gunmen to death last month for carrying out a 2022 massacre at a Catholic church.

Trump Administration Targets ISIS Leader

The Trump administration has also taken direct action against Islamist terrorism operating inside Nigeria.

In May, the administration coordinated with the Nigerian government on an operation targeting ISIS second-in-command Abu-Bilal al-Minuki in northern Nigeria.

The House bill now seeks to apply additional pressure by making clear that U.S. taxpayers will not continue funding the Nigerian government while Christians are being slaughtered, kidnapped, and driven from their communities.

A Canadian husband is sounding the alarm after the country’s government-run healthcare system tried to euthanize his wife instead of saving her life, forcing the couple to flee to the United States, where she received treatment that has since put her cancer into remission multiple times.

The explosive testimony from Donovan James has gone viral after he accused Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) regime of abandoning his wife, Kristin Logan, to die while refusing to provide life-saving care.

According to James, leaving Canada wasn’t a choice.

It was the only way to save her life.

“They Tried to Kill My Wife”

“It’s been 2 1/2 years since my wife first fled Canada to save her life in the United States from stage four ovarian cancer after the Canadian healthcare system left her to die,” James said.

He said Canadian doctors told his wife there was nothing more they could do and dismissed HIPEC surgery as a treatment that would never save her.

Instead, he says, the system left euthanasia as the path forward.

“If we stayed in Canada, her only option would have been to kill herself on MAID because they had no treatment for her; they lied to her and said that the HIPEC surgery wouldn’t ever save her life, but it did,” James said.

James said the failures did not stop there.

He said the healthcare system lost his wife’s chemotherapy requisition before treatment even began, leaving her without cancer treatment while her condition rapidly deteriorated.

Every trip to the emergency room, he said, ended the same way.

“Every time” she went “begging for help in the ER” because her “lungs were filling in with fluid, and she was drowning in them, they kicked her out and sent her home with opioids because they didn’t have anybody there to drain her lungs,” James said.

“So now she’s getting closer to death and in a wheelchair. In a last-minute decision, she decides to try her luck in the United States.”

America Saved Her Life

Logan, who is both a Canadian and American citizen and also served in the U.S. Air Force, crossed the border to Seattle, where doctors immediately began chemotherapy and performed HIPEC surgery.

James says the treatment Canadian doctors dismissed ended up saving her life.

She later returned to Canada to spend time with family because James was unable to remain with her in the United States.

The nightmare quickly resumed.

James said she once again found herself inside a Canadian hospital “rotting and dying, and nearly about to go septic.”

After watching the same cycle repeat itself, the couple decided they had reached their breaking point.

“We decided enough is enough and we got me a green card,” James said.

“There’s No Death Cult Here”

The couple has since relocated to Texas, where James says the contrast with Canada could not be more dramatic.

“Nobody talks about death,” he said.

“In fact, last week, my wife is doing so well on chemo … she’s going into a third remission, she’s back squatting 175 pounds for five in the gym last week.”

“Does that sound like somebody who’s ready to die, Canada?

“Does that sound like somebody who needs to kill themselves with MAID?”

“I’m so grateful to be here in the United States, I’m so grateful especially to be here in Texas. I love Texas.”

“There’s state-of-the-art health care.

“There’s no waiting, there’s no bullsh*t.

Although Logan later revealed that her cancer has returned and she is now undergoing a 13th round of chemotherapy, James says she is still alive today because she escaped Canada’s euthanasia-first healthcare system before it was too late.

Canada’s MAiD Regime Under Intensifying Fire

Canada legalized euthanasia in 2016, and the country’s MAiD program has expanded at a rapid pace ever since.

Hospitals have repeatedly come under fire for offering assisted suicide to vulnerable patients suffering from chronic illnesses, disabilities, or those in need of long-term care.

Slay News has previously highlighted the case of Roger Foley, a disabled Canadian with a degenerative brain disease whose advocate says the hospital caring for him has repeatedly promoted euthanasia while failing to provide the care he needs to survive.

Unless lawmakers intervene, Canada’s euthanasia law is set to expand again in 2027 to include people whose sole underlying condition is mental illness under Bill C-7.

Marking the tenth anniversary of legalized euthanasia, Canada’s Catholic bishops issued a warning against growing acceptance of what they described as a culture of death, urging Canadians to reject complacency toward a practice they said can “never” be morally acceptable.

The Trump administration is highlighting more than $1 billion in United Nations budget cuts secured over the past six months, calling the reductions an unprecedented step toward reforming what officials say has become an increasingly bloated international globalist organization.

The savings stem from two major agreements approved by U.N. member states, including a reduction in the unelected organization’s peacekeeping budget and a separate cut to its regular operating budget.

Administration officials say the agreements represent the largest spending reductions in the U.N.’s history.

U.N. Approves Major Budget Reductions

On June 30, all 193 U.N. member states approved a peacekeeping budget of approximately $5.1 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.

The new budget is roughly $550 million, or 9.7 percent, lower than the previous year’s spending level.

The reduction follows a 15 percent cut to the U.N.’s regular budget approved in December.

Combined, the two agreements reduce assessed budgets by more than $1 billion.

Assessed budgets are financed through mandatory contributions from member states, with each country’s share determined largely by the size of its economy.

U.S. Ambassador for U.N. Management and Reform Jeff Bartos praised the outcome.

“On June 30th, with U.S. leadership, all 193 countries came together again for the second time in six months,” Bartos said.

“We’ve achieved over a billion dollars of savings in six months, which is unprecedented.

“Any one cut would be unprecedented.

“The totality of the reforms is monumental.”

Trump Pushes Broader U.N. Reform

The administration has made restructuring the United Nations a central foreign policy objective, arguing that the organization has become overly bureaucratic, inefficient, and in need of significant financial discipline.

The latest agreements come ahead of the United Nations’ leadership transition in 2027, when Secretary-General António Guterres is scheduled to leave office after completing his second term.

U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric acknowledged that both the peacekeeping reduction and the 15 percent cut to the regular budget were “unprecedented.”

Bartos credited months of negotiations by the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and sustained pressure from the Trump administration for securing the agreements.

“The new budget, this reformed budget, the enhanced efficiency changes the culture of how the U.N. looks at peacekeeping,” Bartos said.

“Every dollar has to achieve impact on the ground.”

He pointed to the U.N. Mission in South Sudan as an example, saying the United States first worked to streamline the mission’s mandate before reducing its funding.

Additional Reforms Could Save Billions More

Member states also approved a significant change to the way the United Nations handles unused budget credits.

Under the previous system, the organization was required to return unspent funds to member states even when those governments had not actually paid their assessed contributions in cash.

The newly adopted policy, approved on a four-year trial basis, limits refunds to funds that have actually been received.

Bartos said the change alone could save the organization more than $1 billion over the next three years in addition to the budget reductions already enacted.

Guterres welcomed the reform following the vote.

He described the previous system as a “Kafkaesque cycle” in which the United Nations was expected “to give back cash that did not exist.”

Dujarric said the revised approach would allow the organization to manage its finances “in a more predictable and responsible way.”

More Changes Planned

Bartos indicated that the recent agreements mark only the beginning of the administration’s reform effort.

“There’s massive numbers of additional reforms that our team is working on right now,” he said.

According to Bartos, future proposals are expected to focus on staff compensation, employee benefits, and the U.N.’s pension system.

He also suggested reform efforts will continue as member states prepare to select the organization’s next secretary-general in 2027.

French Bishop Marc Aillet has warned that Catholic lawmakers who vote to legalize “assisted suicide” place themselves in direct conflict with Church teaching and should not receive Holy Communion if they recognize that contradiction.

Aillet, the bishop of Bayonne, Lescar, and Oloron, issued the warning ahead of a July 15 vote in the French National Assembly on legislation to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide.

France’s National Assembly gave final approval Wednesday to allow the government to euthanize members of the public, the culmination of years of debate over end-of-life care.

But the 291-241 vote in the lower house of parliament doesn’t mean the bill immediately becomes law.

There will be a review to determine if it complies with the French Constitution.

The National Assembly approved the measure after backing it in three previous readings.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the legislation more than three years ago.

“In 2022, I committed to opening this path with the French people,” Macron said in a message posted on X.

“With seriousness, with humility, and with full respect for our democracy, that commitment has been fulfilled.”

Bishop Warns Lawmakers Against Backing Euthanasia

“The issue of euthanasia or assisted suicide is not merely a matter of religious belief,” Aillet told France Catholique.

“It touches on natural law – that is, the foundation of respect for all human life in a civilized society.”

Aillet said Catholic politicians cannot separate their public votes from the moral obligations of their faith.

“When a member of Congress identifies as Catholic while supporting legislation that authorizes the taking of life, he objectively places himself in opposition not only to the Church’s constant teaching but also to a fundamental principle of human reason,” he said.

“The instruction Samaritanus Bonus, published by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, clearly reaffirmed that euthanasia is ‘an intrinsically evil act, regardless of the circumstances,’” Aillet continued.

“A Catholic engaged in public life cannot ignore this.”

Asked whether Catholic legislators who support the bill would face consequences, Aillet said they must examine whether their conduct is consistent with the faith they profess.

“Everyone must examine their conscience to ensure consistency between their actions and the faith they profess,” he said.

“Public support for a law that is seriously contrary to the Church’s moral teaching poses a real problem of ecclesial coherence.”

“Catholic lawmakers who have voted for this bill must weigh its consequences,” Aillet added.

“If they are aware of this inconsistency, they will no longer be able to receive Communion.”

“The Church is justified in reminding them of this, as some bishops have done in the United States,” he said.

“I would like to invite them to a sincere examination of conscience.

“Do we have the right to make the deliberate taking of a human life a response to suffering?”

French Parliament Prepares for Crucial Vote

France has been locked in a prolonged political battle over assisted suicide.

The French Senate narrowly rejected the government’s “end-of-life bill” for the third time, but the legislation is now returning to the National Assembly, where it is expected to pass.

Because the National Assembly has the final say when the two chambers remain deadlocked, the proposal would likely become law if lawmakers approve it on July 15.

In a May statement titled “Thou shalt not kill,” Aillet called on Catholics to pray, fast, and engage directly in the political process to defend the prohibition against intentionally killing human beings.

Church Urges Compassion Without Accepting Assisted Suicide

Aillet also addressed the spiritual condition of people who request assisted suicide, emphasizing that the Church condemns the act while still considering the intense suffering that may weaken a person’s freedom.

“The Church continues to affirm that suicide remains objectively contrary to the will of God, who is the master of life,” he said.

“But she also takes concrete situations into account.

“Suffering, loneliness, depression, and family or social pressures are sometimes so intense that they can profoundly impair a person’s freedom.

“This is why pastoral discernment is essential.”

Aillet said priests should guide suffering people toward hope rather than affirming their desire to die.

“The priest’s role is to help the person rediscover hope, be reconciled with God, and renounce their plan,” he said.

“This spiritual accompaniment consists of helping them choose life until its natural end, never of condoning a lethal act.”

He said decisions involving Christian funerals must also be handled carefully.

A severely disabled Canadian man has issued a chilling plea for help as he battles for his life against doctors who are pushing to euthanize him against his will, warning that his life is in danger as hospital staff pressure him to accept “assisted suicide” while denying him the basic care he needs to survive.

Roger Foley suffers from Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 14, a rare and progressive neurological disease that has left him living in constant pain.

Foley has spent approximately 10 years at London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario and says he has become trapped inside the hospital because publicly funded authorities have withheld the self-directed home care he needs.

He has repeatedly rejected Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program.

However, he says hospital staff continue pushing “assisted suicide” while obstructing access to food, water, medication, and safe personal care.

Hospital Accused of Withholding Life-Sustaining Care

As Slay News has previously reported, Foley has been fighting against euthanasia for some time.

Foley suffers from extreme neurological photosensitivity and cannot tolerate the fluorescent and halogen lighting used inside the hospital.

He relies on low-intensity amber-wavelength lighting to see, eat, drink, and take medication safely.

However, Foley said the hospital removed accommodations that had protected him for years.

“Last year, the hospital abruptly and callously removed the specialized lighting accommodations that I had relied on for years,” Foley said.

“These accommodations were medically necessary due to my severe neurological photosensitivity and visual disability,” he added.

Foley said he must be placed in a specific position using a mechanical sling before he can swallow liquids or pureed food without risking choking, aspiration, or pneumonia.

Without appropriate lighting, he says he cannot safely perform the swallowing technique he requires.

“The hospital’s fluorescent and halogen lighting emits high-intensity blue wavelengths that cause intense eye pain and injury,” Foley explained.

“My eyes require non-direct, low-intensity amber-wavelength lighting—the exact conditions provided by the longstanding accommodations that were removed.”

Foley Says Staff Pushed Assisted Suicide

Foley said hospital staff repeatedly promoted euthanasia while withholding the assistance that would allow him to live outside the institution.

“Hospital staff have repeatedly offered and pressured me to consider Canada’s infamous assisted suicide program Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) while simultaneously obstructing the very services and supports I need to live safely,” Foley said.

“Despite my condition, I have fought tirelessly for my rights, dignity, and the ability to return to the community,” he added.

Foley has no close relatives available to provide the intensive assistance he requires.

Although he desperately wants to return home, he says inadequate government-funded care and a lack of money for private caregivers have left him unable to leave the hospital safely.

Foley Alleges Dehydration, Malnutrition, and Abuse

In a statement published on a new GoFundMe page, Foley detailed the conditions he says he has been forced to endure.

“Since then, I have also been starved of basic care: placed on IV fluids, subjected to ongoing dehydration and malnutrition, repeatedly berated and harassed by staff, violently woken under the guise of so-called ‘checks,’ and assaulted with other abusive tactics,” Foley said.

He said he was forced to construct makeshift protective eyewear by taping together three ski-goggle visors because the filtration he requires is not commercially available.

However, Foley’s malformed cervical spine means he can tolerate the heavy goggles for only around 10 minutes.

“Because of my malformed cervical spine, however, I can only tolerate these heavy goggles for about 10 minutes at a time, which allows only minimal hydration but not food or medication,” Foley said.

“Despite all efforts, I remain dehydrated and in increasing neck pain from being forced to use makeshift goggles just to access partial fluids.”

Foley said the consequences have been devastating.

“I am unable to eat solid food or take oral medications,” he stated.

“My arms are scarred from repeated IV insertions because my veins keep collapsing,” he continued.

“I live in constant pain, severe fatigue, and cognitive decline from dehydration and lack of sleep.”

Foley said hospital staff also impose dangerous restrictions during transfers and expose him to bright lighting despite knowing that it causes severe harm.

“I never consented to this treatment,” Foley said.

“It is a form of cruel punishment and discrimination that has destroyed my health and quality of life.”

Independent Caregivers Step In

Life Care Network Inc., an independent nonprofit organization, has now stepped forward to provide Foley with personal support workers inside the hospital.

The workers are helping him access food, oral medication, water, toileting, and basic hygiene support that he says the hospital has refused to provide.

Life Care Network has also assessed the specialized lighting inside Foley’s room and determined that it is safe for staff, visitors, and care providers.

However, the organization’s funding is limited, and Foley needs additional donations to maintain consistent access to independent caregivers.

“Without this, I remain completely dependent on a hospital that refuses to meet even my most basic needs, while continuing to actively try to just end my life,” Foley warned.

Foley said every donation made through the campaign will be used to fund his care through Life Care Network.

“100% of your donation will directly fund safe and independent care, ensuring I have access to food, water, and dignity while I continue my fight for justice,” he said.

“My life and survival depend on this care,” Foley added.

“Please help me access the essentials that everyone deserves – food, water, medications, and personal safety.”

Foley concluded his appeal by asking supporters to stand with him in his fight to live.

“Thank you sincerely for your consideration to make a personal difference by supporting and standing for life in a very compassionate and practical way,” he said.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a chilling warning that cancer cases are exploding around the world, with the disease expected to soon affect more than 90 percent of the global population.

The WHO said cancer remains the world’s second-leading cause of death after cardiovascular disease.

The disease is already killing more than 26,000 people every day.

According to the agency, the world is now seeing nearly 10 million cancer deaths and 20.6 million new cases every year.

Without urgent action, the WHO warns that the number of new cancer cases will soar to 35 million annually by 2050.

That means new cancer cases are projected to nearly double worldwide in less than three decades.

The WHO estimates that one in five people will develop cancer during their lifetime.

A bombshell new report has exposed thousands of “errors” involving Canadian doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers in cases of people being euthanized by the government in British Columbia.

The findings were uncovered through a freedom of information request by Canadian Catholic News, an arm of the Catholic Register.

The request obtained British Columbia’s “Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) Oversight 2024 Year-End Report.”

The report shows that more than half of all “assisted suicide” cases in the province in 2024 involved mistakes that required review by government officials.

The scale of the problem is staggering.

In 2024, 4,169 people in British Columbia were marked for euthanasia.

That was a 10 percent increase from 2023.

Of the roughly 4,190 cases reviewed that year, the province’s MAiD Oversight Unit found 2,807 errors in 51.9 percent of total “case outcomes.”

More Than Half of Cases Had Errors

The report states that cases requiring “follow-up” had missing information.

In 353 cases, or 12.5 percent, officials found compliance concerns.

Those cases “required education” of healthcare personnel “to ensure they understand legal requirements and the professional standards associated with MAiD.”

That means hundreds of euthanasia cases raised concerns serious enough that government officials had to step in and educate medical personnel about legal and professional requirements.

The errors did not stop the system from continuing.

According to the report, 72 percent of the MAiD cases resulted in people being killed by state-sanctioned lethal injection.

Another 23 percent died of other causes.

Four percent were found not eligible for the deadly procedure under current Canadian law.

Only 1.4 percent of people asked to withdraw their assisted suicide cases.

The numbers paint a chilling picture of a system that is expanding quickly while producing a shocking number of mistakes.

Euthanasia Watchdog Sounds Alarm

Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, said the findings expose a major crisis inside British Columbia’s assisted suicide regime.

“It’s all very shocking that you have such a large amount and percentage of errors in British Columbia,” Schadenberg said, according to the Catholic Register report.

Schadenberg said it is “clear” that there are serious “problems” with euthanasia in the province.

The province’s own numbers support that warning.

In 2024, 6.5 percent of all deaths in British Columbia were caused by MAiD.

That number is continuing to rise.

Health officials in the province have not yet responded to the report’s findings.

Their silence leaves Canadians facing an urgent question.

Quebec Suffers Largest Natural Decline

Newfoundland and Labrador also suffered a record drop.

The province recorded just 865 births and 1,806 deaths between January and March.

That marked its largest natural population decline on record.

The numbers reveal the depth of the collapse.

In some provinces, deaths are not merely edging past births.

Alberta Remains an Exception

Alberta stood out as one of the few provinces still recording natural population growth.

The province reported 12,857 births and 9,289 deaths in the first quarter.

That produced a natural increase of 3,568 people.

Alberta had roughly 38 percent more births than deaths during the quarter.

Only three other provinces posted positive natural increases.

Ontario recorded an increase of 1,019.

Manitoba recorded an increase of 485.

Saskatchewan recorded an increase of 446.

All three territories also recorded more births than deaths.
