OpenAI has lost its top ethics official amid mounting concerns over the safety of increasingly powerful artificial intelligence systems and a series of high-profile departures from the company.

Chloé Bakalar left her position as OpenAI’s AI ethics lead in July, less than a year after joining the company, according to the Financial Times.

Her departure was not publicly announced, and OpenAI has not named a replacement.

According to the Financial Times, Bakalar was the company’s only remaining dedicated ethicist.

Departure Comes as OpenAI Faces New Safety Questions

Bakalar’s exit comes as OpenAI faces scrutiny over the behavior of some of its most advanced AI models.

The company recently revealed that a group of models broke containment during testing and hacked into systems belonging to open-source AI platform Hugging Face.

A network of British globalist organizations is quietly driving legislation across the United States that would require Americans to verify their identities online through digital ID and age-verification systems.

The coordinated campaign has already reached 21 states and Congress, according to an investigation by Effort, with many of the same groups that helped deliver the United Kingdom’s sweeping anti-free speech Online Safety Act now working to replicate similar laws in America.

At the center of the effort is the UK-based 5Rights Foundation, whose leaders openly boast that U.S. legislation is modeled on Britain’s Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC).

“The Bill is practicable and realistic, drawing as it does on the UK’s Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC),” the organization declared alongside two authors of California’s Age Appropriate Design Code.

The investigation identifies five organizations involved in promoting digital identity and age-verification laws across the U.S.

Four are British organizations.

The fifth, Reset Tech, operates as an international coalition with a UK branch.

British Influence Campaign Targets U.S. States

The campaign extends far beyond offering policy advice.

One of the organizations pushing the legislation represents companies that profit directly from mandatory age-verification requirements.

The Age Verification Providers Association is a British trade association whose members sell age-verification and age-estimation technology.

The group backed Britain’s Online Safety Act and has argued that internet users accessing websites through virtual private networks (VPNs) should undergo additional age verification.

In effect, the very tool many people use to protect their online privacy would become justification for demanding even more identification.

The obvious question is whether lawmakers voting on these bills realize one of the chief advocates stands to financially benefit every time another verification mandate becomes law.

California Became the Blueprint

The 5Rights Foundation, chaired by Baroness Beeban Kidron, played a central role in California’s Age Appropriate Design Code, which became law in 2022.

According to Effort, the organization has engaged with 42 pieces of legislation across 18 states, with 11 ultimately becoming law.

Federal records show 5Rights is registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

The organization paid lobbying firm Capitol Connection $50,000 to lobby California lawmakers in support of the legislation.

That lobbying activity was reportedly not disclosed as work on behalf of a foreign principal until 2024, more than a year after the California bill had already been enacted.

The disclosure stated that 5Rights was not controlled by a foreign government while leaving blank the section explaining the extent of Baroness Kidron’s control over the organization she founded.

Kidron has also argued that social media restrictions are ineffective unless VPN use is also addressed.

“Social media bans without VPN bans,” she wrote, “are for show and headlines, not for children.”

The Same Organizations Appear Across Multiple Campaigns

Other organizations identified in the investigation have also played prominent roles in Britain’s online speech laws.

The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) openly acknowledged helping shape the UK’s Online Safety Act.

Chief Executive Imran Ahmed told Britain’s House of Lords that CCDH had “championed the Online Safety Act since its inception” and served as the first witness before the parliamentary committee reviewing the legislation.

The House Judiciary Committee has also highlighted CCDH’s influence beyond Britain.

According to the committee, the European Commission’s handbook on online content incorporated policy recommendations from CCDH.

Another organization, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), has received U.S. State Department funding to develop technologies targeting online “disinformation and propaganda.”

ISD also participates in Spotify’s Safety Advisory Council and Google’s Trusted Flagger program for YouTube, where reports from approved organizations receive priority review.

Effort estimates ISD has received more than $17 million in contracts from the U.S. State Department, the European Union, and multiple UK government departments.

Congress has since begun examining those relationships.

The House Judiciary Committee reported that it obtained documents from both Access Now and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue in July 2025 while investigating how European regulators work with outside organizations to police online speech.

Lobbying Campaign Expands Across America

Reset Tech has also emerged as a major player in the effort.

In submissions supporting Britain’s Online Safety Act, the organization argued that formal complaint mechanisms against online platforms should become a permanent structural feature of internet regulation.

Its American affiliate, Reset Tech Action, spent more than $1.35 million lobbying Congress and state legislatures between 2024 and mid-2026.

According to the investigation, four of the six bills Reset Tech Action lobbied on were also backed by 5Rights.

Critics argue the pattern suggests a coordinated international campaign rather than isolated state-level initiatives.

Digital ID Push Raises New Questions

The House Judiciary Committee has previously warned that Britain’s Online Safety Act represents one of the most significant foreign attempts to expand government oversight of online speech.

The committee noted that the law empowers Britain’s communications regulator, Ofcom, to oversee how social media platforms respond to what officials classify as misinformation and disinformation.

Now, similar legislative proposals are advancing across America.

According to the investigation, this is not simply a series of unrelated state initiatives.

It is the same collection of organizations promoting legislation they helped craft overseas, while, in at least one case, representing companies that stand to profit from the very verification systems those laws would require.

A world-renowned Nobel Prize-winning British computer scientist known as the “Godfather of AI” is warning that Big Tech is pouring trillions of dollars into artificial intelligence with one primary goal: replacing human workers.

Geoffrey Hinton, one of the pioneers of modern artificial intelligence, is sounding the alarm that the AI revolution is being driven by corporate profits rather than scientific progress.

According to Hinton, the technology is now “very likely” to trigger mass unemployment across the developed world as companies race to replace employees with cheaper AI systems.

‘They’re Betting on Replacing Workers’

Hinton, 77, resigned from his role as Vice President and Engineering Fellow at Google in May 2023 so he could warn the public about the growing dangers posed by artificial intelligence.

Speaking during a discussion at Georgetown University, Hinton, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2024, warned that Silicon Valley’s enormous AI investments are being fueled by expectations of replacing millions of human jobs.

“If you ask where are these guys going to get the roughly trillion dollars they’re investing in data centres and chips… one of the main sources of money is going to be by selling people AI that will do the work of workers much cheaper,” Hinton said.

“And so these guys are really betting on AI replacing a lot of workers.”

His remarks come as the world’s biggest technology companies continue spending unprecedented sums building AI infrastructure, including massive data centers and specialized processors.

Unlike many industry executives who portray that future as liberating, Hinton believes the transition could devastate millions of families before society adapts.

He argues that while new jobs may eventually emerge, they are unlikely to offset the enormous number of positions that AI will eliminate.

AI Boom Driven by Profit, Not Public Benefit

Hinton has increasingly accused Big Tech of prioritizing shareholder returns over the broader consequences for society.

He previously argued that major technology companies have shifted away from scientific discovery and are now primarily focused on maximizing quarterly profits through automation.

The financial incentives are enormous.

Foreign nationals now account for nearly 45% of Germany’s prison population, according to figures obtained from all 16 state justice ministries, with the rate approaching 60% in Berlin and Hamburg.

An analysis by the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung found that 27,000 of the 60,408 people held in German prisons or pretrial detention as of March 2026 did not have German citizenship.

That puts the nationwide share of foreign prisoners at a record 44.8%, up from approximately 30% in 2015.

Foreign Prisoner Rates Near 60% in Major Cities

The figures classify dual nationals and foreign-born individuals with German citizenship as German, meaning the number of foreign-born inmates is likely higher than the official total.

Berlin recorded the highest proportion, with foreign nationals making up 59% of prisoners.

Hamburg followed at 58%.

Non-German citizens also represented more than half of the prison populations in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and Hesse.

The rates were lower in eastern Germany, where approximately one-quarter of inmates in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia were foreign citizens.

Foreign prisoners most commonly came from Eastern European and Arab countries, according to the newspaper.

Their share of the prison population is sharply disproportionate to their share of Germany’s general population, where foreign nationals account for just under 17%.

Prison Officers Warn of Language Barriers and Radicalization

The German Association of Prison Officers said the changing prison population is placing additional pressure on an already strained correctional system.

“Language barriers are a major problem,” association chairman René Müller told the newspaper.

Müller said interpreters are not always available and that translation technology cannot replace the direct communication needed to address inmates’ problems or prepare them for release.

“Our officers are finding it increasingly difficult to rehabilitate inmates and are struggling to connect with them,” Müller said.

He warned that communication failures can fuel aggression, encourage inmates to form isolated subcultures, and increase the risk of Muslim prisoners becoming radicalized behind bars.

Bavaria’s Justice Ministry also cited language difficulties and “culturally determined behaviors” that can create serious conflicts between inmates and prison staff.

Lawmaker Blames Germany’s Migration Policies

A 2024 estimate found that Germany’s prison system cost taxpayers approximately €4.14 billion annually, with about €1.82 billion spent incarcerating foreign nationals.

At the time, foreign prisoners already made up more than half of the inmate population in several German states.

Alternative for Germany lawmaker Martin Hess said the figures reflected the consequences of the country’s migration policies.

“Around 15 percent of people living in Germany are foreigners,” Hess said.

“However, their share of suspects, convicted persons, and prisoners is disproportionately high.”

Hess, a former police officer, called for stricter deportations and a complete reversal of Germany’s migration policy.

He argued that foreign criminality presents both a public safety threat and a significant financial burden for German taxpayers.

Elon Musk’s X is sounding the alarm over a sweeping new Australian censorship proposal that could allow government regulators to demand documents and personal information from people outside the country, including Americans.

In a formal submission to the Australian Senate, X warned that the legislation would dramatically expand the power of Australia’s eSafety Commissioner and reach far beyond the nation’s borders.

Under the proposal, a person would not need to live in Australia or operate an Australian company to be targeted.

They would only need to be considered “affiliated” with an online platform.

X Warns Australia Is Claiming Power Over People Worldwide

X submitted its objections to the Senate Environment and Communications Legislation Committee as lawmakers consider the Online Safety Amendment (Strengthening Enforcement for the Social Media Minimum Age) Bill 2026.

The legislation passed Australia’s House of Representatives on July 1 and was referred to the Senate committee the same day.

The committee is expected to issue its report on August 25.

X warned that the amendments would “compel any person outside Australia…to provide information and documents merely because they are ‘affiliated’ with a company.”

The company said such an expansion of power would be “in clear conflict” with established international legal principles.

X also warned that the measure “raises potential for a severe impact on international comity.”

In practical terms, the Australian government is seeking the authority to demand records from people and companies around the world, even when their only connection to the country is an association with a social media platform.

Government Could Access Face Scans and Identity Documents

The legislation would also give Australia’s eSafety Commissioner the power to demand records from digital identity companies used to verify the ages of social media users.

Those companies can hold some of the most sensitive personal information imaginable, including facial scans, photographs of identification documents, and data used to estimate or infer a person’s age.

Australia forced platforms to begin collecting this information after banning children under 16 from using social media.

The same government that mandated the collection of those records is now demanding a direct legal route to access them.

App store operators could also be forced to turn over information under the proposal.

X warned that lawmakers had failed to give “due regard to procedural fairness, privacy, the broader impacts on online services, and Australia’s digital economy.”

Platforms Face Massive New Fines

Companies that fail to take “reasonable” steps to keep users under 16 off their platforms currently face penalties of up to A$49.5 million.

The new bill would double the maximum punishment to A$99 million (US$69 million) for systematic breaches.

The threat of enormous financial penalties would give the regulator extraordinary leverage over platforms, identity-verification providers, and potentially individuals located outside Australia.

Australia’s eSafety agency told lawmakers that its existing authority is insufficient because regulators must often rely on “representations from providers about their own compliance.”

The agency said its inability to compel records from third-party age-verification companies creates “significant” barriers to investigations.

It is preparing possible enforcement action against five platforms and says its current powers are slowing that effort.

U.S. Congress Has Already Raised Free Speech Alarm

The censorship push has already attracted scrutiny in Washington.

A U.S. congressional committee asked Australian eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant to testify over concerns that her actions threaten American free speech.

Musk previously described Australia’s social media restrictions as a “backdoor way to control access to the internet by all Australians.”

The new legislation suggests the government’s ambitions extend even further.

It would allow an Australian regulator to reach across national borders, demand documents from people abroad, and access sensitive identity records collected under a government-imposed age-verification regime.

Industry Group Says Regulator Already Has Unused Powers

DIGI, an industry organization representing several online platforms, told the inquiry that the eSafety Commissioner already possesses enforcement powers that have not yet been fully used.

The group’s message was clear: Australia’s regulator should use the authority it already has before demanding sweeping new powers over platforms, vendors, and people outside the country.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is now facing possible prison time after Senate Republicans voted to hold him in contempt of Congress and refer him to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for criminal prosecution.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), approved the explosive contempt resolution Thursday morning in an 8-7 party-line vote.

Every Republican voted to hold Fauci accountable.

Every Democrat voted against the referral.

The vote came after Fauci defied a congressional subpoena and pleaded the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times rather than answer questions about COVID-19, dangerous gain-of-function research, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and his previous testimony under oath.

The matter will now be sent to federal prosecutors.

If convicted of contempt of Congress, Fauci could face up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.

‘A Subpoena Is Not an Invitation’

Paul delivered a blistering warning before the committee voted to refer Fauci for prosecution.

“A subpoena is not an invitation,” Paul declared.

“A subpoena with no consequences is not a subpoena; it’s a suggestion.

“Seeking the truth is not a witch hunt.

“Accountability is not vengeance.

“Accountability is what stands between the American people and a repeat of the mistakes and the very real consequences of the past.”

Paul said contempt votes should be rare but warned that Congress would surrender its constitutional oversight authority if powerful government officials could simply ignore subpoenas without consequence.

The committee ultimately agreed.

Fauci’s refusal to testify is now a potential criminal matter.

Fauci Pleaded the Fifth More Than 100 Times

Fauci was subpoenaed to appear before the committee on July 29 for what was expected to be a long-awaited reckoning over his role in the federal government’s pandemic response.

Republicans questioned the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director about high-risk virology experiments, U.S. funding connected to research in Wuhan, his relationship with intelligence officials, and whether he lied to Congress.

Fauci refused to answer.

“On advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution,” Fauci repeated throughout the hearing.

He invoked the constitutional protection against self-incrimination more than 100 times.

Fauci would not even answer questions about whether a red folder was sitting in front of him, what day of the week it was, or the color of his tie.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said Fauci’s blanket refusal to answer even harmless questions amounted to an abuse of the Fifth Amendment.

Biden Pardon May Have Destroyed Fauci’s Defense

Fauci’s legal position is complicated by the sweeping pardon he received from former President Joe Biden.

Biden issued Fauci a “full and unconditional pardon” covering federal offenses committed between January 1, 2014, and January 19, 2026.

Paul’s contempt resolution argues that the pardon eliminated Fauci’s reasonable fear of prosecution for conduct during that period.

In other words, Fauci may have lost the legal basis for invoking the Fifth Amendment while still refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena.

The resolution also argues that Fauci waived the privilege by delivering an opening statement attacking Paul’s investigation before refusing to answer lawmakers’ questions.

That dispute will now move beyond the hearing room and into the hands of the Justice Department.

Democrats Fight to Stop Criminal Referral

Committee Democrats made repeated attempts to delay or kill the contempt resolution.

Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), the committee’s ranking member, tried to table the measure over concerns that it could reach prosecutors without a full Senate vote.

Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) demanded that the committee pause until outside legal experts could evaluate Fauci’s Fifth Amendment strategy.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) sought to delay the referral until Fauci’s attorney could testify.

Blumenthal also argued that Fauci should receive a guarantee from the Justice Department that he would not be prosecuted before being compelled to answer questions.

Republicans rejected every attempt.

Paul accused Democrats of running interference for Fauci and trying to prevent accountability.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) revealed that Democrats had not reviewed the committee’s investigative evidence through its internal document system.

“If the investigation seems one-sided, it’s because one side simply doesn’t want to look at the truth,” Johnson said.

Fauci’s Reckoning Has Arrived

For years, Fauci was protected by the corporate media, Democrat officials, and the federal bureaucracy.

He championed lockdowns, masks, mandates, school closures, and dangerous virus research while dismissing Americans who questioned his authority.

When Congress finally placed him under subpoena and demanded answers, Fauci refused to speak.

He pleaded the Fifth more than 100 times.

Now a Senate committee has formally voted to refer him for criminal prosecution.

The man once presented as the untouchable face of “science” is no longer merely facing difficult questions.

Fauci is facing the Justice Department.

And he could be facing prison.

A group of international scientists is pushing a chilling plan to slash a staggering 4 billion people from the global population of humans to achieve what they describe as a “sustainable” future for those selected to remain on Earth.

The scientists made the call in a newly published study, reigniting alarm over the global depopulation agenda after the researchers argued that the Earth’s population should be cut roughly in half.

The study, authored by roughly a dozen researchers led by Columbia University’s Mark Keegan, contends that the world’s population must be culled to approximately four billion people by the year 2200.

“We show that slowing and gradually reversing population growth to ∼4 billion or less by 2200, while moderating per capita impacts, is the path toward sustainability,” the authors wrote.

The researchers also called for reducing “per capita impacts,” a reference to lowering individual consumption of energy, resources, and other goods.

Researchers Blame Humanity for Environmental Problems

The study argues that population growth is driving a wide range of environmental issues, including declining wildlife populations, rising carbon dioxide emissions, greater energy consumption, increased freshwater use, expanded mineral extraction, plastic production, pesticide use, and a growing ecological footprint.

“Global environmental problems are caused by people, nothing else,” the authors asserted.

“The more of us there are, the greater our overall economic demands and the greater the associated environmental problems.”

They concluded that continued population growth is fundamentally “unsustainable.”

Using United Nations population projections, the researchers argued that humanity is on course to peak at between 9 billion and more than 11 billion people by the end of the century; levels they claim pose an unacceptable threat to long-term sustainability.

Calls for More Population-Control Policies

To accelerate population decline, the study recommends expanding access to what it describes as “reproductive health services,” a term that commonly includes abortion alongside contraception.

The authors also call for improving girls’ educational opportunities, particularly in developing nations, as part of their strategy for reducing birth rates.

Beyond reducing population growth, they advocate additional government intervention aimed at lowering consumption through stricter land-use policies, pollution controls, energy-efficiency targets, and expanded limits on the extraction of natural resources ranging from fisheries to forests.

The researchers argue that even stronger measures may ultimately be required at the local, national, and international levels.

Critics Say Population Collapse Is the Real Threat

While the study warns of overpopulation, many demographers argue that the opposite problem is rapidly emerging.

Global fertility has already fallen dramatically.

The study itself acknowledges that the worldwide fertility rate stood at just 2.2 children per woman in 2024, barely above the replacement level needed to maintain stable populations.

Other researchers have warned that much of the developed world is already experiencing sustained below-replacement fertility, setting the stage for long-term population decline.

A major study published in The Lancet projected that the world could begin experiencing a steep population decline within decades.

Economist Dean Spears of the University of Texas Population Research Center has similarly warned that once fertility remains below replacement for an extended period, the world’s population could eventually shrink to “very small” numbers.

According to Spears and his co-authors, prolonged population decline could trigger widespread economic and social consequences, including shrinking workforces, reduced innovation, deteriorating infrastructure, labor shortages, declining mental health, and mounting pressure on healthcare systems caring for aging populations.

Even the World Economic Forum has acknowledged that large-scale population collapse could have “severe” consequences.

Debate Over Earth’s Carrying Capacity

The assumption that Earth cannot support its current population remains highly contested.

Research on the planet’s carrying capacity varies dramatically.

Some studies estimate Earth can sustainably support roughly 8 billion people, close to today’s global population.

Others conclude the planet could sustain 16 billion people or more, while several estimates place the number as high as 64 billion.

One study even projected a theoretical carrying capacity exceeding 1 trillion people under certain technological assumptions.

Past Predictions Failed to Materialize

Psychologist Jordan Peterson has frequently pointed to earlier warnings of catastrophic overpopulation that never came to pass.

Discussing predictions made decades ago by the globalist pro-depopulation Club of Rome, Peterson noted that many forecasts warned of mass starvation, riots, and societal collapse by the turn of the century because there were supposedly “too many people on the planet.”

“That just didn’t happen at all,” Peterson said.

“It wasn’t just wrong, it was anti-true.

“It was absolutely wrong.”

Instead, Peterson argued, living standards improved dramatically around the world, with hundreds of millions of people escaping extreme poverty.

Author Eric Metaxas has similarly criticized modern overpopulation fears as descendants of Thomas Malthus’ population theory, which predicted that population growth would inevitably outstrip food production.

Environmental scientist Erle C. Ellis has also challenged the premise, arguing that advances in technology have repeatedly expanded humanity’s ability to support larger populations.

According to Ellis, history demonstrates that societies have consistently sustained populations well beyond what traditional Malthusian models predicted, leading him to conclude that there is “no such thing as a human carrying capacity” in any fixed sense.

The study nevertheless adds to a growing body of proposals advocating lower birth rates, reduced consumption, and expanded government intervention as solutions to global environmental challenges, recommendations that amount to another push for population control despite mounting evidence that many nations are instead confronting demographic decline.

A Canadian husband is sounding the alarm after the country’s government-run healthcare system tried to euthanize his wife instead of saving her life, forcing the couple to flee to the United States, where she received treatment that has since put her cancer into remission multiple times.

The explosive testimony from Donovan James has gone viral after he accused Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) regime of abandoning his wife, Kristin Logan, to die while refusing to provide life-saving care.

According to James, leaving Canada wasn’t a choice.

It was the only way to save her life.

“They Tried to Kill My Wife”

“It’s been 2 1/2 years since my wife first fled Canada to save her life in the United States from stage four ovarian cancer after the Canadian healthcare system left her to die,” James said.

He said Canadian doctors told his wife there was nothing more they could do and dismissed HIPEC surgery as a treatment that would never save her.

Instead, he says, the system left euthanasia as the path forward.

“If we stayed in Canada, her only option would have been to kill herself on MAID because they had no treatment for her; they lied to her and said that the HIPEC surgery wouldn’t ever save her life, but it did,” James said.

James said the failures did not stop there.

He said the healthcare system lost his wife’s chemotherapy requisition before treatment even began, leaving her without cancer treatment while her condition rapidly deteriorated.

Every trip to the emergency room, he said, ended the same way.

“Every time” she went “begging for help in the ER” because her “lungs were filling in with fluid, and she was drowning in them, they kicked her out and sent her home with opioids because they didn’t have anybody there to drain her lungs,” James said.

“So now she’s getting closer to death and in a wheelchair. In a last-minute decision, she decides to try her luck in the United States.”

America Saved Her Life

Logan, who is both a Canadian and American citizen and also served in the U.S. Air Force, crossed the border to Seattle, where doctors immediately began chemotherapy and performed HIPEC surgery.

James says the treatment Canadian doctors dismissed ended up saving her life.

She later returned to Canada to spend time with family because James was unable to remain with her in the United States.

The nightmare quickly resumed.

James said she once again found herself inside a Canadian hospital “rotting and dying, and nearly about to go septic.”

After watching the same cycle repeat itself, the couple decided they had reached their breaking point.

“We decided enough is enough and we got me a green card,” James said.

“There’s No Death Cult Here”

The couple has since relocated to Texas, where James says the contrast with Canada could not be more dramatic.

“Nobody talks about death,” he said.

“In fact, last week, my wife is doing so well on chemo … she’s going into a third remission, she’s back squatting 175 pounds for five in the gym last week.”

“Does that sound like somebody who’s ready to die, Canada?

“Does that sound like somebody who needs to kill themselves with MAID?”

“I’m so grateful to be here in the United States, I’m so grateful especially to be here in Texas. I love Texas.”

“There’s state-of-the-art health care.

“There’s no waiting, there’s no bullsh*t.

“There’s no death cult here, just good care.”

Although Logan later revealed that her cancer has returned and she is now undergoing a 13th round of chemotherapy, James says she is still alive today because she escaped Canada’s euthanasia-first healthcare system before it was too late.

Canada’s MAiD Regime Under Intensifying Fire

Canada legalized euthanasia in 2016, and the country’s MAiD program has expanded at a rapid pace ever since.

Hospitals have repeatedly come under fire for offering assisted suicide to vulnerable patients suffering from chronic illnesses, disabilities, or those in need of long-term care.

Slay News has previously highlighted the case of Roger Foley, a disabled Canadian with a degenerative brain disease whose advocate says the hospital caring for him has repeatedly promoted euthanasia while failing to provide the care he needs to survive.

Unless lawmakers intervene, Canada’s euthanasia law is set to expand again in 2027 to include people whose sole underlying condition is mental illness under Bill C-7.

Marking the tenth anniversary of legalized euthanasia, Canada’s Catholic bishops issued a warning against growing acceptance of what they described as a culture of death, urging Canadians to reject complacency toward a practice they said can “never” be morally acceptable.
