An explosive new investigative report is raising serious questions about what happened behind the scenes following Jeffrey Epstein’s death, revealing that large volumes of documents were shredded inside a federal jail, before the FBI could examine them, just days after he was supposedly found dead.

The revelations come from a report by the Miami Herald, which analyzed thousands of pages of records tied to the Epstein case.

Corrections Officer Sounded Alarm to FBI

According to the report, an inmate identified as Steven Lopez was ordered to transport multiple bags, described as “bales,” of shredded documents to a dumpster at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan on August 15 and August 16, 2019.

“They are shredding everything back there,” Lopez told corrections officer Michael Kearins.

Kearins said the volume of shredded material was unlike anything he had seen.

He contacted the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center on August 16 to report the activity, stating he had “never seen this amount of bags of shredded documents coming out to be put in the dumpster at the rear gate of MCC.”

In a follow-up memo dated August 19, Kearins warned investigators directly.

“I believe that this conduct may be inappropriate for an investigative team to be shredding paperwork related to the investigation, and you may want to investigate why BOP employees are destroying records,” he wrote.

FBI Alert Came Too Late

The report details how federal agents attempted to respond after the tip.

“Can we take a look at the Dumpster ASAP to see if the paper is still there? Possible they didn’t dump it yet,” an agent wrote in response.

But by the time action was taken, the contents had already been removed.

The trash was picked up that same morning.

Missing Records Raise Further Questions

The timing of the shredding coincided with federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York requesting key jail records related to Epstein’s detention.

Those records later vanished.

“We learned today that all institutional count slips for dates prior to August 10, 2019, which we requested on August 12, 2019, are apparently ‘missing,’” prosecutors stated.

The destruction of documents occurred while a Federal Bureau of Prisons “After Action Review” team was already on-site examining the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death.

Multiple Investigations Quietly Closed

Authorities initially opened multiple probes into the situation, including potential obstruction of justice tied to the document destruction.

Those included investigations by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York into Epstein’s death, possible misconduct by corrections staff, and a separate corruption probe.

Despite the scope, the cases were ultimately shifted to the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General, which does not have prosecutorial authority.

An Inspector General investigation interviewed Lopez and others, but the matter was closed without further apparent action.

Official Narrative Still Disputed

Epstein, who was facing sex trafficking charges, was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019.

His death was ruled a suicide by hanging by New York City Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Barbara Sampson.

However, forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden has challenged that conclusion.

Baden, the former Chief Medical Examiner of New York City and a veteran of over 20,000 autopsies, has argued the injuries were more consistent with homicide than suicide, citing damage to the neck and other physical findings.

According to Baden, the neck injuries and ruptured capillaries in the eyes are proof of strangulation rather than suicide by hanging.

The woman, identified as Miriam, said the doctor tried to pressure her into being euthanized before attempting to determine what was wrong with her.

Miriam emphasized that she had not requested euthanasia, had not discussed it, and had not even received a diagnosis at the time it was offered.

“I was a month in hospital, came home, recuperated nicely enough that I could take some trips,” she said.

“Off I went last year to Cuba – before the problems today in Cuba – and then, this just recently, I have been to Mexico and Guatemala.

“My recovery has been amazing, and there was no need for MAiD to even be suggested.”

A hacker group calling itself ByteToBreach has reportedly dumped sensitive source code tied to Sweden’s national digital identity system.

The group claims it breached CGI’s Swedish division and accessed code connected to the nation’s digital identity system, called BankID.

BankID is the single authentication system used by millions of Swedes for banking, taxes, government services, and digital signatures.

Hackers Claim Access to Core Digital Identity Infrastructure

According to reports, the leaked material includes source code, passwords, and encryption keys tied to systems supporting BankID logins for the Swedish Tax Agency.

BankID is not a niche tool as it serves as the backbone of Sweden’s digital infrastructure.

More than 8.6 million people in a country of just over 10 million rely on it for daily life, creating what critics warn is a dangerous single point of failure.

The data reportedly surfaced on a known cybercrime platform called Breached.

Breached is a dark web forum where hacked data is leaked and traded.

Shortly after it was leaked on Breached, the site was taken offline as part of a cybersecurity operation, limiting independent verification of the full scope of the hack.

However, it’s unclear how much of the data was sold before the site was taken down.

CGI confirmed the breach but characterized it as limited in scope, claiming it involved only internal test servers.

“The incident concerns two internal test servers in Sweden,” the company said.

“The servers are not used in production but are used for testing, connected to a service for a limited number of customers.”

CGI also stated that the attackers accessed an older version of the source code and insisted there was “currently no indication of any impact on customers’ production environments, production data, or operational services. Information to the contrary is not accurate.”

The Swedish Tax Agency echoed that position.

“We take all incidents seriously, but we don’t see anything that affects us right now,” IT Director Peder Sjölander said.

However, cybersecurity experts warn that exposure of source code, even from test environments, can provide attackers with a roadmap to exploit live systems, including authentication flows and security architecture.

A new analysis has revealed that Google’s news aggregation platform overwhelmingly favors left-leaning media outlets in its top morning headlines.

Researchers from the Media Research Center (MRC) reviewed the top 20 stories featured in the morning edition of Google News each day and found that right-leaning outlets made up only a small fraction of the content.

The study was conducted throughout February.

Right-Leaning Sources Rarely Featured

According to the report, just 11 of the 487 total stories analyzed, about 2.2 percent, came from outlets categorized as right-leaning by media ratings firm AllSides.

By contrast, the study found that:

   • 314 stories (64.5 percent) came from outlets classified as left-leaning.

   • 162 stories (roughly one-third) came from outlets rated politically “center.”

The analysis also found that no right-leaning outlets appeared at all on 17 days during the month.

On days when right-leaning sources were included, they were typically limited to just one story among the top 20 headlines, according to the report.

Conservative Stories Often Ranked Lower

Even when right-leaning content did appear, the study claims those stories were frequently ranked lower in the list of top headlines.

According to the analysis, the lone right-leaning story was placed beneath other outlets roughly 45 percent of the time.

The report identified Fox News, the New York Post, the Daily Mail, and The Bulwark as the only right-leaning outlets that appeared in the dataset.

Critics Point to Platform Bias

Critics of major technology companies say the findings reinforce longstanding concerns about ideological bias within large digital platforms.

David Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, argued that Google cannot simply blame algorithms for the disparity.

“Google can pretend to hide behind its algorithm all it wants,” Bozell said.

“The fact that it followed Apple News’s lead in suppressing right-leaning outlets tells you all that you need to know about the search giant’s rampant anti-conservative bias.”

Bozell called on the company to change its approach.

“Google must come clean and start operating fairly,” he said.

“It can do so by not discriminating against right-leaning outlets.”

Google Defends Its News Algorithm

Google has long insisted that Google News results are generated by automated systems, not by editorial decisions based on political viewpoints.

According to the company, the platform’s algorithms prioritize factors such as relevance, authority, and timeliness when determining which stories appear in the headline feed.

Yet, those results routinely favor the Left and conveniently censor conservative viewpoints.

The Canadian government is “celebrating” a grim milestone as the nation’s state-run euthanasia program approaches a staggering death toll of 100,000 citizens.

Projections show that nearly 100,000 citizens will have been euthanized through the country’s taxpayer-funded Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) system before the program reaches its 10th anniversary on June 17.

The controversial program has expanded rapidly since its launch, with new figures showing thousands of Canadians now being killed by lethal injection through the “assisted suicide” system each year.

State Euthanasia Deaths Continue to Rise

According to the latest government data cited by The National Post, 15,767 Canadians were euthanized through the MAID program in 2024 alone.

During the same year, only 2,000 shelter dogs in Canada were put down, according to The Vet Desk.

That figure of euthanized citizens represents approximately 5.1 percent of all deaths in the country during that year.

The numbers suggest that roughly 45 Canadians are being euthanized each day.

By comparison, in 2021, a total of 9,842 Canadians died through the program.

Overall deaths under MAiD reached 76,475 by 2024.

The total is nearly twice the number of Canadians killed in combat during World War II, according to figures from the Canadian War Museum.

Critics Warn of Growing Cultural Shift

Opponents of assisted suicide say the rapid growth of Canada’s program demonstrates how quickly such policies can expand once legalized.

Dennis Poust of the New York State Catholic Conference said Canada’s experience serves as a warning for U.S. states considering similar policies.

“The proliferation of assisted suicide in Canada is a human tragedy and societal failing — one that New York is on track to duplicate,” Poust said.

“Canada’s program is indeed a warning, one we pointed to again and again as a harbinger of New York’s future when appealing to lawmakers and the governor,” he added.

“What starts out as a ‘choice’ quickly becomes an expectation for patients, especially the poor and underinsured and people with disabilities.

“Tragically, this is what we can expect here.”

Growing Scrutiny Over Approvals

Canada’s MAID program has faced renewed criticism following reports of rapid approvals for euthanasia requests and allegations that vulnerable individuals may have been pressured into choosing the procedure.

The issue gained attention following the death of 26-year-old Kiano Vafaeian in British Columbia.

Vafaeian, who lived with Type 1 diabetes, vision problems, and seasonal depression, was approved for euthanasia and died on Dec. 30, 2025.

His family has since called for reforms to the system.

“We never thought there would be a chance that any doctor would approve a 22- or 23-year-old at that time for MAID because of diabetes or blindness,” his mother, Margarat Marsilla, said.

In another chilling example, an official government review recently revealed that Canada’s state-run euthanasia regime crossed a horrifying new line after an elderly woman was killed by the state after explicitly saying she wanted to live.

The woman, identified only as “Mrs. B”, was euthanized by the Canadian government within hours of objecting to “assisted suicide.”

She was reportedly euthanized by the government’s socialized healthcare system despite repeatedly stating that she refused euthanasia and wanted hospice care instead.

U.S. States Expand Assisted Suicide Laws

Meanwhile, assisted suicide policies continue to spread across the United States.

New York recently approved the Medical Aid in Dying Act, becoming the 14th state to legalize a version of doctor-assisted suicide.

Religious leaders and critics have warned that the policy could lead to similar trends seen in Canada.

Medical Ethicist Warns of Global Expansion

Dr. Lydia Dugdale, a physician and medical ethicist at Columbia University Medical Center, has warned that euthanasia laws promoted as compassionate solutions may carry unintended consequences.

Dugdale said the practice has expanded rapidly around the world.

“I can completely empathize with the sense that this is a very effective and efficient way to end suffering,” Dugdale said.

“But are we creating new problems by normalizing the taking of life or the taking of one’s own life?”

Dugdale said Canada’s experience raises serious concerns about how physician-assisted suicide could reshape healthcare and end-of-life care.

“It’s now one in 20 or more die from MAID in Canada,” Dugdale said.

“That’s made me more concerned.”

She warned that normalizing euthanasia may alter how society treats the sick and vulnerable.

“Certainly it changes the culture around care of the sick and dying,” Dugdale said.

“Rather than committing to the long, difficult work of caring for the sick, all the way to the point of death, we have an easy out.”

Concerns About Pressure on Vulnerable Patients

Dugdale also warned that assisted suicide laws could create subtle pressure on vulnerable individuals.

Patients who are elderly, disabled, or dependent on others for care may begin to view themselves as burdens.

“I think there’s an additional concern about what happens then for those whose lives we don’t think are worth living, for those who feel a burden on their families or on the community,” Dugdale said.

Research cited by Dugdale also suggests that traditional suicide rates may increase in areas where physician-assisted suicide becomes normalized.

“Once a community is committed to death on demand, then there are many people who feel like they don’t even need to go through the doctor,” Dugdale said.

“Taking one’s own life becomes legitimate.”

Canada’s federal government has assembled a parliamentary committee packed with euthanasia supporters to review whether the country’s controversial “assisted suicide” program should be expanded to people suffering solely from mental illness.

The move has alarmed critics who warn the Trudeau-era Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) regime is already spiraling out of control.

The Special Joint Parliamentary Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying is made up of 10 Members of Parliament and five senators.

It will examine whether Canada should move forward with plans to allow assisted suicide for people who have no physical illness at all, only mental health conditions.

The expansion is already scheduled to take effect in 2027 unless Parliament intervenes.

Pro-Life MPs Vow to Fight Expansion

Among the committee members is Conservative MP Andrew Lawton, who has been outspoken in opposing the expansion.

Lawton confirmed his appointment in a post on X.

“I’m honoured to be named to the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying, which will review the incoming expansion of MAID to people with solely a mental illness and no physical ailments,” Lawton wrote.

“This expansion comes into force next year unless new legislation is passed.”

Lawton is joined by other Conservative lawmakers who oppose expanding euthanasia, including Conservative MP Tamara Jansen and Conservative MP Michael Cooper.

However, the committee also includes several lawmakers who have supported euthanasia expansion, including Sen. Kristopher David Wells, along with Liberal MPs Kristina Tesser Derksen and James Maloney.

Lawton Speaks Out After Surviving Suicide Attempt

Lawton has spoken publicly about nearly dying in a suicide attempt 15 years ago.

He recently launched an initiative aimed at helping people struggling with mental illness choose life and raising awareness about the dangers of expanding euthanasia access.

The current push to extend assisted suicide to those with mental illness stems from Bill C-7, legislation passed in 2021 that dramatically expanded Canada’s euthanasia laws.

Conservatives Introduce Bills to Stop Expansion

Conservative lawmakers have introduced legislation aimed at slowing or stopping the expansion.

Conservative MP Garnett Genuis introduced Bill C-260, titled “An Act to amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying – protection against coercion).”

If passed, the bill would prohibit government officials or authority figures from suggesting euthanasia to someone who has not asked for it.

Another proposal, Bill C-218, introduced by Conservative MP Tamara Jansen, would prevent state-sponsored euthanasia from being extended to people suffering solely from mental illness.

The bill passed its first reading on June 20, 2025.

Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre praised Lawton for sharing his personal story and raising awareness about the issue.

Canada’s Euthanasia Program Keeps Expanding

Canada legalized assisted suicide in 2016 under the Liberal government of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The program has been rapidly expanding since then.

Originally limited to patients who were terminally ill, MAiD eligibility was widened in 2021 through Bill C-7 to include people suffering from chronic conditions.

Since then, activists have pushed for additional expansions, including allowing euthanasia for people with mental illness and even minors.

MAiD advocates have also begun calling for newborn babies to be euthanized.

Currently, assisted suicide remains illegal for minors and for people suffering solely from mental illness.

However, the government has already scheduled the mental illness expansion to take effect in 2027.

The policy was originally set to begin earlier, but was delayed in February 2024 after significant backlash from medical professionals, mental health advocates, pro-life organizations, and several Canadian provinces.

The government agreed to push back the plan when doctors refused to start euthanizing mentally ill patients.

Same-Day Euthanasia Cases Raise Alarm

Meanwhile, critics say the existing program is already deeply troubling.

Recent reports show that thousands of Canadians have been euthanized shortly after receiving approval.

In Ontario alone, more than 200 people were euthanized within 24 hours of being approved in 2023, according to a 2024 provincial report cited by the Free Press.

Of the 219 deaths examined, roughly 30 percent occurred the same day approval was granted.

The report also highlighted disturbing cases that critics say raise serious questions about how the program is being administered.

Woman Euthanized After Attempting to Withdraw Request

One case involved an elderly woman identified as Mrs. B, who was in her 80s and had suffered complications after coronary bypass surgery.

Initially, she expressed interest in assisted suicide, as Slay News reported.

Later, however, the woman reportedly changed her mind.

According to the report, she told a MAiD practitioner she wanted to withdraw her request, citing religious and personal reasons and expressing a desire to continue hospice care.

Despite that decision, the process continued.

Physicians reportedly cited her husband’s “caregiver burnout” when evaluating the case.

A request for inpatient hospice care to support the family was denied.

A second practitioner determined the woman still qualified for MAiD despite her earlier withdrawal.

Although the practitioner declined to approve a same-day procedure due to concerns about a “drastic change in perspective” and possible coercion, the case moved forward.

A third evaluator later visited the woman at her home and approved the euthanasia procedure.

Hours later, Mrs. B was euthanized with a lethal injection, against her wishes.

Canada’s taxpayer-funded euthanasia program is drawing renewed scrutiny after a new report found that the government has already been quietly performing thousands of same-day “assisted suicides.”

The revelations come as Canada continues expanding its Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) system, a program critics warn is rapidly transforming the country’s approach to healthcare, disability, and end-of-life care.

Thousands of Same-Day Assisted Deaths Reported

A new report found that the MAiD program has already carried out thousands of same-day euthanasia procedures.

In Ontario alone, more than 200 people were euthanized within 24 hours of being approved in 2023, according to a 2024 provincial report cited by the Free Press.

According to the report, a medical provider “proceeded to vigorously rouse” him so he could mouth “yes” when asked if he still wanted the procedure.

He was subsequently euthanized.

Reflection Period Eliminated in 2021

Canada removed the program’s original 10-day waiting period in 2021, allowing patients to proceed with euthanasia much more quickly after approval.

Patients whose deaths are considered reasonably foreseeable can now be approved without the previous reflection period, provided they demonstrate their suffering is “intolerable.”

Those whose natural death is not considered imminent are technically subject to a 90-day waiting period and must receive approval from two physicians.

However, the Free Press reported that some procedures had occurred before the 90-day period ended.

An exception exists for patients who may lose the capacity to consent during the waiting period.

Thousands of Medical Providers Involved

More than 2,200 doctors and nurse practitioners participated in Canada’s euthanasia program in 2024.

Federal data shows about 100 of those providers performed more than 30 assisted deaths each.

Families Speak Out

Canada’s MAiD program has also faced backlash from families of individuals who died under the system.

One of the most prominent cases involved 26-year-old Kiano Vafaeian, who struggled with “seasonal depression” and partial blindness.

His family said his condition often worsened during the winter months and that earlier requests for assisted suicide had been denied.

Eventually, his request was approved.

The family later accused a physician involved in the case of coaching the young man on how to qualify.

“We believe that she was coaching him on how to deteriorate his body and what she can possibly approve him for and what she can get away with approving him for,” his mother, Marsilla, said.

“We don’t want to see any other family member suffer, or any country introduce a piece of legislation that kills their disabled or vulnerable without appropriate proper treatment plans that could save their lives,” she added.

Debate Over Expanding the Program

Canada has already approved plans to expand the MAiD program to include individuals suffering solely from mental illness.

However, the expansion has been delayed amid concerns about how eligibility will be evaluated.

Patients in this category will not be able to access the program until at least March 17, 2027, while a parliamentary committee studies the issue.

The debate over the program continues as critics warn that the system is expanding faster than safeguards can keep pace.
