A veteran British teacher has been referred to the UK government’s counter-terrorism investigations team after showing students video clips of President Donald Trump during a class on U.S. politics.

Critics say the case exposes a growing culture of ideological censorship inside Britain’s education system.

The incident took place at Henley College in Oxfordshire, where the longtime educator, qualified since the mid-1990s, presented students with footage from Trump’s inauguration and campaign to illustrate the outcome of the U.S. election.

Days later, two students complained that the lesson material was “biased.”

Students claimed they were “emotionally disturbed,” and one alleged the videos of Trump caused nightmares.

College officials escalated the matter to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

LADO prioritized a referral to the government’s counter-terrorism unit, Prevent, and warned that the teacher’s political views “could be perceived as radical.”

Officials warned that the teacher’s actions could potentially amount to hate-related conduct, terrorism, or “radicalisation.”

Speaking to The Telegraph, the teacher described the experience as “completely jarring.

“It’s dystopian, like something from a George Orwell novel,” he explained.

“It was just terrifying; just mind-boggling,” he said.

“We were discussing the US election, Trump had just won, and I showed a couple of videos from the Trump campaign.

“Next thing, I was accused of bias.

“One of the students said they were emotionally disturbed and claimed to have had nightmares.”

Identifying himself as a “mainstream Republican,” he rejected the extremist label outright.

“I am not an extremist,” he said, accusing the college of “complete Left-wing bias,” and adding:

“They don’t tolerate anything about Donald Trump.”

In correspondence cited in the dispute, the college asserted that he had “shown your students videos of Donald Trump, his campaign, propaganda, and other videos which are unrelated to what is being taught.”

The LADO report went further, warning:

“There is concern that this behaviour could cause harm to a child, there could be a criminal offence from the views which could constitute a hate crime, and it’s possible that his promoting of views could be radicalisation.”

The dispute concluded with the teacher resigning and accepting a £2,000 ($2,695) settlement, effectively forced out of his role for presenting political material directly tied to the course subject matter.

Critics Say Safeguarding System Now Targets Dissent

Free speech advocates say the case highlights how safeguarding frameworks are increasingly used to police political opinions, particularly those seen as Right-leaning.

They warn that the incident reflects a broader shift inside schools toward ideological filtering, even as classrooms simultaneously promote aggressively revisionist or activist-driven curricula under “decolonizing” initiatives.

The case also coincides with government-backed programs instructing students to scrutinize and “identify extremist content and misinformation,” programs critics argue are being used to condition children to reject viewpoints that challenge establishment narratives.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage cautioned that speech boundaries are rapidly narrowing.

Farage warns that the socialist government is making people fear being labeled an “extremist” to “set a narrative for a future generation that is fundamentally undemocratic.”

He is calling globalist Prime Minister Keir Starmer the “biggest threat to free speech” in British history.

The Free Speech Union has likewise warned that safeguarding processes are being applied to “unfashionable opinions,” creating what critics describe as a climate of fear among educators.

For the teacher at the center of the case, the message was unmistakable as political discussion involving Trump, even in a class about American politics, now risks triggering counter-terror scrutiny.

A disturbing new pattern is emerging across the United States, leaving doctors baffled as a once-rare form of deadly cancer is now surging among young Americans.

Roughly one in three patients is now under 50, a complete reversal of historical trends.

Vanderbilt University epidemiologist and molecular biologist Andreana Holowatyj, who has led multiple national studies on the disease, found in 2020 that malignant appendix cancer diagnoses increased 232% between 2000 and 2016.

Every generation saw increases, but the spike among younger adults is the most pronounced.

The real danger is that appendix cancer is notoriously stealthy.

Symptoms are vague and include mild abdominal pain, bloating, and pelvic discomfort.

Doctors note that these are issues that most people chalk up to indigestion or other common gastrointestinal problems.

As a result, doctors often discover the cancer only after a patient undergoes emergency surgery for presumed appendicitis.

However, by then, early intervention is off the table.

There are no screening guidelines for appendiceal cancer.

Awareness is virtually nonexistent.

And to make matters worse, the disease behaves differently from colorectal cancer and doesn’t respond well to standard chemotherapy.

Despite the alarming rise, experts still don’t know why it’s happening.

Doctors openly acknowledge they’re baffled as researchers scramble to identify what’s driving the trend.

Holowatyj and others have floated a list of possible culprits, but no definitive answers.

Among the potential contributors:

  • Lifestyle shifts: ultra-processed foods, alcohol, sleep disruption, declining physical activity

  • Environmental exposures: plastics, chemicals, pollutants, degraded water quality

  • Biological changes: inherited genetic variants, gut microbiome disruption

Similar increases are being documented in other gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal, bile duct, and pancreatic, especially among younger adults.

A new peer-reviewed study is pouring cold water on one of the plant-based industry’s biggest selling points, finding that highly processed fake “meat” substitutes offer no clear cardiovascular benefit over real food and, in some cases, may be nutritionally worse.

The news is a blow to globalists pushing the products onto the public and companies producing fake “chicken” and “beef,” such as Bill Gates’s Beyond Meat.

Researchers from the U.K. and Singapore followed 82 adults at risk for Type 2 diabetes over an eight-week trial, dividing them into two groups: one that consumed traditional meat and another that ate popular plant-based meat alternatives such as fake sausages, burgers, and nuggets.

The results were published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Despite years of aggressive marketing claiming these products are healthier and more sustainable, the study found no meaningful improvements in heart-related metrics for the plant-based group.

Instead, researchers identified several nutritional red flags.

A “Health Halo” Built on Marketing, Not Science

For years, the plant-based industry has depended on what nutritionists sometimes call a “health halo,” framing engineered meat substitutes as cleaner, leaner, and heart-safe.

But according to this study, that perception is not just misleading, it may be flat-out wrong.

Participants who ate fake meat products had a 42.5% increase in sodium intake, a major risk factor for hypertension.

Meanwhile, participants who continued eating real meat actually saw reductions in dietary cholesterol and modest improvements in blood pressure.

Dr. Sumanto Haldar, a lecturer in Nutrition Science at Bournemouth University and co-author of the study, said the problem lies in the way these products are made.

“At present, producing these plant-based meat alternatives often involves a substantial amount of processing,” Haldar explains.

“The end products can be high in salt, saturated fat, and additives in order to match the taste and texture of real meat products.”

Haldar added that these highly engineered substitutes cannot replicate the benefits of a genuine whole-food plant-based diet built on unprocessed legumes, vegetables, whole grains, and nutrient-dense foods.

Processed ≠ Healthy: Consumers Are Catching On

The findings come as the fake “meat” market struggles to maintain credibility.

Once hailed as the future of food, major brands have collapsed or downsized as consumers grow skeptical of ultra-processed substitutes.

Meatless Farm fell into administration in 2023 after sales cratered.

Bill Gates’s Beyond Meat has seen its stock price plunge amid declining demand, making the company “almost worthless.”

Major grocery chains have cut shelf space for fake “meat” as health-conscious shoppers reject heavily processed formulas.

The study’s authors say this trend reflects a larger shift as consumers increasingly realize that these products often replace one perceived problem (red meat) with another (industrial, additive-heavy ingredients).

Haldar said the research should serve as a wake-up call to manufacturers:

“This gives an impetus for the food industry to re-evaluate the development of the next generation of meat alternative products, so that they not only taste good, but also have improved nutritional attributes and are more affordable for the entire population.”

Whole Foods Still Outperform Fake “Foods” By a Mile

The researchers emphasized that the proven benefits of a plant-forward diet come from whole foods, not processed approximations of meat.

Whole-food diets supply antioxidants, fiber, and anti-inflammatory nutrients, without the industrial additives, emulsifiers, and chemical flavoring agents found in many fake “meats.”

They offer the kind of natural nourishment that supports long-term health instead of mimicking meat through laboratory shortcuts.

Fake Meat Fails to Deliver

The new study adds to a growing body of evidence that not all plant-based diets are created equal.

While real, unprocessed plant foods can improve health, the ultra-processed products dominating grocery shelves today appear to fall short both nutritionally and in terms of consumer trust.

Conspicuously absent from the recommendations: any call to expand free speech, increase transparency, or empower citizens to challenge institutional claims.

The direction of travel is unambiguous, toward a centralized, globalized information management structure.

The EU–Canada Digital Partnership Council gathered in Montreal on December 8, co-chaired by Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomo,n and European Commission Executive Vice President Henna Virkkunen.

This meeting operationalized earlier commitments from the 2023 EU–Canada Digital Partnership and the 2025 Strategic Partnership of the Future, marking a major acceleration of cross-border digital governance.

Canada’s Liberal government is taking another major step toward expanding the nation’s already-controversial “assisted suicide” program, this time pushing for citizens to be euthanized with “pre-approval,” eliminating one of the last remaining safeguards against involuntary death.

Health Canada has released a new series of studies laying the groundwork for a dramatic overhaul of the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) system.

In a report published on October 29, the agency openly explored allowing advance requests for lethal injections, meaning a person could sign off on their own death years before they lose capacity, and be killed even if they can no longer consent when the moment comes.

“An advance request is a request for MAiD made by an individual who still has the capacity to make decisions, but before they are eligible or want to receive it,” the report states.

These requests would be triggered automatically “after they have lost the capacity to consent.”

Currently, Canadian law requires explicit consent at the time of death.

This measure is one of the few remaining barriers preventing the euthanasia system from killing patients who may be confused, incapacitated, or unable to object.

Advance requests are illegal under the Criminal Code.

However, instead of enforcing the law, globalist Prime Minister Mark Craney’s government is now signaling its support for revising it.

The report even provides a hypothetical about a man with Alzheimer’s who signs an advance request after deciding that, if his condition deteriorates, he wants to be euthanized if he can no longer feed himself, recognize his children, or get out of bed.

Under the proposed system, once he loses capacity, the lethal injection would proceed automatically, whether or not he understands what is happening.

This comes after Quebec unilaterally announced in October that it would begin accepting “advance requests” in defiance of federal law.

Sonia Bélanger, the Quebec minister responsible for seniors, declared:

“Quebec has full jurisdiction to legislate in the area of ​​health care.

“The advance request for MAiD is a consensus in Quebec.”

However, rather than reprimanding the province, Ottawa appears ready to normalize and expand the practice nationwide.

In November, Health Canada called for a “national conversation on advance requests” for euthanasia.

Despite the report claiming to reflect Canadian public sentiment, it excluded major stakeholders, including Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, who was not invited to participate in roundtable discussions.

Schadenberg has warned repeatedly that Health Canada has “stacked the deck” to manufacture support for expanding MAiD.

It’s the same pattern, he says, that has accompanied every major expansion since euthanasia was legalized in 2016.

Since then, Canada has rapidly created the fastest-growing euthanasia program in the world.

The Liberal government broadened eligibility in 2021 to include people who are not terminally ill, and attempted to extend euthanasia to those with mental illness alone, a move it delayed until 2027 after widespread backlash (a WEF Death-wish).

Even without advance requests, MAiD has already expanded 13-fold.

Euthanasia is now the sixth leading cause of death in Canada, though it curiously does not appear in Statistics Canada’s official top-10 list.

The push for pre-approved euthanasia marks the most extreme evolution yet, transforming MAiD from a supposedly narrow end-of-life option into a state-sanctioned system for scheduling death in advance, even for those who will never again be able to say yes or no.

Critics warn the proposal crosses a line from “assisted death” into something far darker: a system where vulnerable people can be signed away long before anyone knows if they still want to live.

And with the Liberal government once again signaling its willingness to expand MAiD rather than restrain it, the line between choice and coercion continues to blur.

Taxpayer funding for Germany’s digital speech-regulation programs has expanded dramatically over the past decade as the nation’s government seeks to crack down on the general public’s free speech, according to a new investigation.

The German government has increased spending on anti-free speech efforts more than fivefold since 2020, reaching roughly €105.6 million by 2025.

The findings come from The Censorship Network: Regulation and Repression in Germany Today, a report by Liber-net, a digital civil liberties organization that tracks speech-restriction and information-control initiatives across Europe.

The report outlines a rapidly growing network of government ministries, publicly funded “fact-checking” groups, academic research hubs, nonprofits, and private-sector partners that now work in tandem to regulate online communication.

What began as a series of small “anti-hate” programs has become a state-financed framework for broad “content controls,” fueled by both German funding and foreign grants.

Liber-net’s accompanying databases identify more than 330 organizations connected to the network and document over 420 individual grants.

Each entity is rated on a five-point scale measuring its level of direct involvement in censorship-related activity.

Public funding for these initiatives tripled between 2020 and 2021 and doubled again by 2023.

The Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) has been the largest financial driver, responsible for more than €56 million in allocations since 2017.

Much of that funding supports the RUBIN consortium, a research group developing artificial intelligence tools intended to detect and filter “disinformation.”

According to Liber-net, these AI systems, though framed as protective measures, also centralize decisions about what constitutes acceptable speech.

Foreign contributions have added another layer to the expanding system.

The European Union has invested roughly €30 million since 2018, including €4 million for Deutsche Welle’s Media Fit program aimed at shaping online narratives around the Russia–Ukraine war.

The U.S. government has provided about $400,000 to fourteen German organizations over the same period, reflecting a coordinated transatlantic interest in influencing digital information environments.

As funding has increased, enforcement has intensified. In June 2025, German police carried out approximately 170 raids targeting individuals accused of online “hate speech.”

CBS reported similar raids earlier in the year.

One high-profile case involved David Bendels, editor-in-chief of Deutschland Kurier, who received a seven-month suspended sentence after posting a meme depicting Interior Minister Nancy Faeser holding a sign stating, “I hate freedom of expression.”

The actions are grounded in Germany’s Network Enforcement Act (NetzDG), which compels social media companies to quickly remove content deemed illegal or offensive.

Though originally promoted as a measure against extremist activity, the law has drawn criticism from across the political spectrum, including the Left Party, Free Democrats, Greens, and AfD, for granting private corporations sweeping authority over public speech and limiting open debate.

Liber-net’s analysis describes Germany as a central force in Europe’s expanding system of information control, arguing that the speech-regulation framework has evolved beyond addressing harmful content and now operates as a managed structure for policing public discourse.

With extensive funding, international backing, and limited transparency, the group warns, the country’s growing “content control” network shows how easily censorship can be institutionalized under the language of digital safety and social responsibility.

Meta is lobbying the Canadian government to adopt sweeping new regulations that would force mandatory age verification at the app store level, a move critics warn would give Big Tech and government unprecedented control over citizens’ digital identities.

According to newly revealed lobbying efforts, Meta has spent months pressuring Ottawa to include OS-level age-verification requirements in upcoming online safety legislation.

To bolster its campaign, the company paid consulting firm Counsel Public Affairs to poll Canadians on digital safety expectations for teenagers.

The poll found that 83% of parents support requiring app stores to verify a user’s age before allowing downloads.

Meta is now citing those numbers as justification for structural policy changes.

“The Counsel data clearly indicates that parents are seeking consistent, age-appropriate standards,” the company argued, claiming the “most effective way” to achieve that goal is by verifying age directly through the app store.

Meta Canada’s public policy director, Rachel Curran, promoted the approach as “by far the most effective, privacy-protective, efficient way” to determine user age.

But tech experts and civil-liberties advocates say the opposite is true.

Big Tech’s Power Grab?

Embedding age verification inside the operating system would centralize enormous amounts of personal data in the hands of a few corporations, namely Meta, Apple, and Google, while obligating users to identify themselves before accessing basic online tools.

Google itself blasted Meta’s proposal as a self-serving attempt to outsource responsibility.

“Time and time again… you’ve seen them push forward proposals that would have app stores change their practices… without any change by Meta,” said Google government-affairs director Kareem Ghanem.

Behind the corporate sparring sits a far larger issue:

Direct Threat to Anonymity and Free Speech

Requiring age checks at the operating system or app store level may sound like a simple parental-safety tool.

A mandatory shift toward government-approved verification would force those creators to either compromise their core principles or lose access to mainstream platforms entirely.

It is the exact scenario many privacy advocates have warned about for years: a regulatory shortcut that hands power to giant corporations while wiping out alternatives.

Global Push

Meta’s lobbying push comes as governments worldwide seek tighter control over digital speech, identity, and access.

Critics argue the trend is increasingly framed as “safety,” particularly for children, but consistently advances policies that erode online anonymity and expand centralized authority.

Whether Canada’s final legislation embraces Meta’s proposal is still unknown.

A new major study is adding fuel to a growing national debate over what constant smartphone exposure is doing to Americans, especially children.

The Pediatrics analysis of more than 10,000 adolescents found that early smartphone ownership correlates with sharply higher risks of depression, obesity, and chronic sleep problems, and the younger kids receive their first device, the worse the long-term outcomes appear.

Researchers with the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study tracked 10,588 participants, comparing health trajectories between 12-year-olds who owned smartphones and those who did not.

The results were stark.

Children with smartphones showed a 31 percent higher risk of depression, a 40 percent increase in obesity risk, and a 62 percent higher likelihood of inadequate sleep.

The trend deepened with earlier exposure.

For every year younger a child acquired a smartphone, obesity risk rose by another 9 percent, and inadequate sleep rose by 8 percent.

The study also found that children who did not own smartphones at age 12 but received one the following year had dramatically worse outcomes, including 57 percent higher odds of clinical-level psychopathology and a 50 percent jump in sleep problems, even after researchers controlled for baseline mental and behavioral health.

Concerns extend well beyond adolescence.

Adults now spend more than four hours per day on smartphones on average, and researchers point to cascading health effects: disrupted sleep, increased anxiety, posture-related chronic pain, metabolic dysfunction tied to sedentary phone use, and measurable declines in overall well-being.

Another area drawing renewed scrutiny is long-term radiation exposure.

Smartphones emit radiofrequency electromagnetic fields, which the International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified as possibly carcinogenic to humans.

Studies show children absorb significantly more radiation than adults; research published in Environmental Research found that developing brains absorb two to three times more and that children’s bone marrow absorbs roughly 10 times the local dose of adults.

Adults, meanwhile, face cumulative exposure.

Someone who started using a phone at 15 and continues into their mid-60s collects five decades of daily exposure.

European governments have not ignored these concerns.

France has banned Wi-Fi in nursery schools and restricted it in elementary classrooms.

Belgium has prohibited marketing phones to children under the age of seven.

Yet in the United States, device use continues to rise across all age groups with little policy discussion about long-term health implications.

Experts recommend reducing daily exposure by setting screen-time limits, designating phone-free zones, and shutting off wireless features when not in use.

Physical habits such as speakerphone use, wired headsets, and keeping phones away from beds can meaningfully reduce radiation exposure.

Researchers also warn that chronic nighttime blue-light exposure delays melatonin production and contributes to widespread sleep disruption.

They highlight environmental and metabolic factors tied to long-term cancer risk, including circadian rhythm disruption, sedentary behavior, and electromagnetic exposure, and argue that these cumulative stressors form part of a larger picture of declining population health.

Heavy smartphone use is associated with measurable harm across all ages.

Early exposure compounds the risks for children, while adults face the long arc of cumulative radiation, chronic inflammation, and sleep disruption.

Researchers warn that without deliberate behavioral changes, limiting screen time, reducing radiation exposure, and supporting physical health, the long-term consequences will continue to escalate.

A stunning new analysis has revealed that almost one million UK children aged just 3–5 years old are already using adult-targeted social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Snapchat.

A new national survey finds that a startling share of young voting-age adults is open to handing sweeping government authority to artificial intelligence (AI), including powers over public policy, individual rights, and even the world’s militaries.

The poll, conducted by Rasmussen Reports and The Heartland Institute’s Glenn C. Haskins Emerging Issues Center, surveyed 1,496 likely voters ages 18–39. The margin of error is ±3 percentage points.

According to the findings, 41% of young adults support giving “an advanced AI system authority to control public policymaking decisions.”

That number jumps to 54% among respondents ages 25–29 and 55% among conservatives in the same age bracket.

Researchers described the results as evidence of a developing “AI strong man mentality” among younger Americans.

“Younger generations are increasingly disillusioned with the failures of traditional institutions, so much so that they are willing to hand control to artificial intelligence,” Heartland analysts said.

Support for AI Control Over Basic Rights

The survey shows that the appetite for AI governance goes far beyond policymaking.

36% support allowing AI to control “rights that belong to individuals and families, including rights related to speech, religious practices, government authority, and property.”

35% support giving AI command authority over “all of the world’s largest militaries,” with the stated goal of reducing wartime casualties.

Among voters ages 18–24, support for AI controlling global militaries climbs to 40%.

Heartland researchers called the findings “stunning,” warning that younger voters appear unusually willing to cede core constitutional protections to algorithmic systems.

AI’s Expanding Role in Public Institutions

Artificial intelligence continues to spark intense political and cultural debate, with critics warning that AI threatens to displace workers and centralize power, while supporters say it can streamline government and accelerate scientific advancement.

President Donald Trump’s proposed One Big Beautiful Bill originally included a provision seeking a 10-year moratorium on state-level AI regulations, though the measure was removed from the final legislation.
