Democrats in Ohio have introduced legislation to begin legally euthanizing members of the public considered to be “terminally ill,” reigniting a contentious debate over life, medical ethics, and the role of doctors.

A newly released, largely unredacted court filing has revealed that Amazon pressured major brands to push rival retailers into raising prices, a practice the state argues amounts to illegal price fixing.
The filing was released by California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
The 19-page memorandum, filed in San Francisco Superior Court, includes internal emails that prosecutors say show Amazon leveraging its market power to influence pricing across competing platforms, including Walmart and Target.
Emails Detail Alleged Pricing Pressure
The filing is part of the case The People of the State of California v. Amazon.com Inc. (CGC-22-601826), first brought in September 2022.
California alleges Amazon operated what it describes as a “Retail Price Fixing Scheme.”
The Jeff Bezos-owned company is accused of using its dominance to pressure vendors into ensuring prices did not fall below certain levels elsewhere.
Bonta said the newly unredacted material provides unusually direct evidence.
“You don’t see price fixing so explicitly and egregiously in writing like this,” Bonta told reporters.
According to the filing, Amazon flagged lower-priced items sold by competitors and then communicated with brands to address what it viewed as pricing discrepancies.
In one example cited, Amazon identified Levi Strauss products being sold at lower prices through Walmart.
The filing states that Levi Strauss subsequently worked with Walmart to raise those prices, after which Amazon matched the higher pricing.
The documents describe similar interactions involving companies such as Hanes, Allergan, and other vendors, with brands allegedly acting as intermediaries between Amazon and competing retailers.

“One is that meat and dairy are perceived as cleaner products with more protein,” Yee said.

Yee notes that plant-based alternatives often contain long ingredient lists.
Consumers, he said, “would rather choose meat and dairy than the alternatives,” citing both cost and satisfaction.
“Meat and dairy just have an easier time communicating [their] value and delivering in taste than plant-based products,” Yee added.
He further explained:
“Clover Food Lab is suffering from a general decline in restaurant sales, but the factors that are increasing meat and dairy sales, and decreasing plant-based sales, are definitely crushing them.”

America’s young men are increasingly turning back to religion, with new polling data showing a sharp rise in faith’s importance in their lives, marking a notable shift after years of declining religious engagement.
A new survey from Gallup found that 42% of men under 30 now say religion is “very important” to them, up from just 28% in 2023.
The increase signals a reversal of long-standing trends in religious commitment among younger Americans.
Young Men Overtake Women in Religious Commitment
The data shows a shift in the traditional gender gap.
Historically, women have reported higher levels of religiosity than men.
However, among Americans under 30, that pattern has flipped.
Only 30% of women in the same age group said religion is “very important,” placing them well below their male counterparts.
“The percentage of young men saying religion is very important to them is now similar to the percentage for men aged 30-49 and only slightly lower than for senior men,” Gallup reported.
“Young women, by contrast, are now by far the least religious women,” Gallup said.
“At 29% calling religion very important, women aged 18-29 trail the next-least religious group, 30- to 49-year-old women, by 18 points and are less than half as likely as senior women to say religion is very important.”
Church Attendance Climbs as Political Divide Widens
The poll also found a rise in church attendance among young men, with 40% reporting they attend religious services at least monthly.
The figure is up from 33% in 2023.
The increase is most pronounced among young Republicans, where attendance rose from 40% in 2019 to 52% in 2025.
By contrast, church attendance among young Democrat-voting men has steadily declined, dropping from 40% in 2000 to just 26% in the latest data.
Gallup’s findings are based on thousands of interviews with U.S. adults, providing a detailed look at changing religious behavior across demographics.
Search for Meaning Drives Return to Faith
The shift comes as more young Americans seek purpose and stability in an increasingly uncertain cultural environment.
Observers point to a growing interest in Christianity among Gen Z and Millennials, with increased engagement in church communities, Bible study, and faith-based discussions.
Bishop Robert Barron pointed to a clear trend within the Catholic Church.
“Last year, we broke the record for the number of adult converts, and then this year — so, we have what’s called the rite of election, that’s when all the people are entering into the church — we broke that record again,” Barron said.
“So, it’s a trend that’s visible all over the church, and it’s certainly been true in my diocese.”
Barron also pointed to dissatisfaction with modern culture as a driving factor.
“Our culture today is very ephemeral, right?” he said.
“It’s evanescent… Catholicism speaks to something much deeper, and older, and more permanent.”
Data Points to Broader Cultural Reversal
Additional research from Barna shows that 66% of adults now say they have made a personal commitment to Jesus that remains important in their lives, up from 54% in 2021 and 2022.
Church leaders have also reported increased engagement among younger generations, including rising baptisms and conversions, often among individuals who were not raised in religious households.
Daniel Copeland, vice president of research at Barna, said the trend among younger Americans stands out.
“Even so, the fact that young people are showing up more frequently than before is not a typical trend,” Copeland said.
“This data represents good news for church leaders and adds to the picture that spiritual renewal is shaping Gen Z and Millennials today.”
Signs of a Cultural Shift Taking Hold
While overall religious participation still trails historical norms, the renewed interest among younger Americans is beginning to reshape perceptions about faith’s role in public life.
For many observers, the trend suggests a potential turning point, driven by individuals seeking meaning, stability, and purpose in a rapidly changing cultural landscape.

Sweden’s government is warning that energy rationing could soon become a reality if disruptions tied to the Iran conflict continue to strain global fuel supplies, underscoring growing economic pressure across Europe.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson confirmed that while rationing has not yet been implemented, the government is actively preparing for that scenario as uncertainty surrounding energy markets intensifies.
Sweden Prepares for Worst-Case Scenario
“We are not planning any rationing right now, but we are prepared for it to happen,” Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said during a press conference, according to Aftonbladet.
Standing alongside him, Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson described the situation in stark terms.
“The worst crisis in a very long time, when it comes to energy,” Svantesson said.
She added that government-imposed rationing remains a last resort.
“Government rationing is something that you absolutely want to avoid in every situation,” Svantesson said.
“That is why we are working on measures that will ensure that we do not get there.”
Kristersson also acknowledged that Sweden’s economic outlook has deteriorated as the conflict continues to impact fuel flows and broader market stability.
Europe Braces for Economic Fallout
Sweden’s warning comes as European governments face mounting pressure from surging energy costs linked to instability in the Middle East, particularly disruptions involving the Strait of Hormuz.
Germany has already revised its economic outlook downward.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche announced that growth forecasts have been cut significantly.
Germany now expects just 0.5 percent growth this year, down from a prior estimate of 1 percent.
Projections for 2026 were also reduced from 1.3 percent to 0.9 percent.
Germany’s economy ministry cited “external geopolitical shocks,” including the Iran conflict and constraints on energy supply, as key drivers behind the slowdown.
The ministry also warned that inflation is expected to rise to 2.7 percent this year and 2.8 percent in 2027.
The figures are up from 2.2 percent last year.
Airlines Pass Costs to Consumers
The spike in fuel prices is already hitting the aviation sector, with major airlines signaling fare increases, route reductions, and cost-cutting measures.
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby told investors the company may raise ticket prices by as much as 20 percent to offset rising jet fuel costs.
“Yields need to increase by about 15 percent to 20 percent,” Kirby said, adding that the airline aims to recover the full increase in fuel costs as quickly as possible.
Lufthansa has announced plans to cancel 20,000 short-haul flights through October.
In a statement, Lufthansa cited the sharp rise in fuel prices since the start of the Iran conflict.
The airline said the cuts would reduce fuel consumption by approximately 40,000 metric tons.
Other carriers are taking similar steps.
Air Canada recently announced it would discontinue service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and increase baggage fees on select routes.
Virgin Australia and Qantas have also raised fares in response to higher fuel costs.

Canada’s most senior Catholic leader is sounding the alarm over the country’s rapidly expanding euthanasia regime, directly calling on globalist Prime Minister Mark Carney and his Liberal government to reverse course before the system pushes even further into controversial territory.
Cardinal Frank Leo, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, issued a blunt warning in a letter addressed to Carney and Liberal MPs.
Leo is urging the ruling Liberal Party to support legislation that would block euthanasia for individuals suffering from mental illness.
Cardinal Calls on Liberal Government to ‘Choose Life’
In his letter, Cardinal Leo framed the issue in stark moral terms, warning that Canada is moving in a dangerous direction.

The cardinal urged Carney to allow Liberal lawmakers to support Bill C-218.
The Conservative-backed measure would stop the planned expansion of “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD) to begin euthanizing those with mental illness.
“As you know, our Catholic faith opposes the taking of any human life, and it is with great disappointment and anguish that we have seen our country expand Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) at a rapid and alarming rate since legislation was passed in 2016,” Leo added.
Conservative Bill Aims to Block Mental Illness Expansion
Bill C-218, introduced by Conservative Party MP Tamara Jansen, would prevent euthanasia from being extended to individuals suffering solely from mental illness.
Jansen has been outspoken about the risks of the expansion, stating that offering assisted death in such cases crosses a dangerous line.
“Not healthcare, that’s not compassion, it’s abandonment,” Jansen said.
