The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear a case brought by Colorado parents over the local public middle school’s policy to not inform parents about their children’s “gender transition” decisions.

The case was declined on procedural grounds.

The SCOTUS agreed with the lower courts that the case was not brought correctly on the proper grounds.

Lower courts dismissed the case against Wellington Middle School in Poudre School District R-1 on procedural grounds before considering it on the merits.

Parents wanted to challenge “District Secrecy Policies” that said teachers and administrators could keep a child’s so-called “gender transition” a secret from the students’ families.

The policy is not to inform parents that the child was “identifying” as a “different gender,” and even taking on a different name at school.

Parents argued that the policy violates the Fourteenth Amendment’s Due Process Clause by denying them parental rights to be informed and make decisions for their children.

The school district’s attorneys argued that the petitioners were seeking “an advisory opinion that would fail to afford them any relief from the rulings below, and this is the wrong case to consider whether a public school employee’s alleged discouraged disclosure regarding gender identity and expression implicates a fundamental right.”

The parents argue that the case involves 12 and 13-year-old children who are generally quite immature and whose ideas about gender identity are often changeable.

It’s widely regarded that schools should not be allowed to hide this or any other information from parents, who have the right to make these decisions for their children.

While even the most conservative justices on the court agreed with the ruling, Justice Samuel Alito encouraged lower courts not to avoid similar cases that did not have the procedural hurdles this one does.

“I concur in the denial of certiorari because petitioners do not challenge the ground for the ruling below,” Alito wrote.

“But I remain concerned that some federal courts are tempted to avoid confronting a particularly contentious constitutional question: whether a school district violates parents’ fundamental rights when, without parental knowledge or consent, it encourages a student to transition to a new gender or assists in that process.

“Petitioners tell us that nearly 6,000 public schools have policies—as respondent allegedly does—that purposefully interfere with parents’ access to critical information about their children’s gender identity choices and school personnel’s involvement in and influence on those choices,” he continued.

“The troubling—and tragic—allegations in this case underscore the great and growing national importance of the question that these parent petitioners present.”

A case like this one definitely needs to be heard, either in a lower court or by the Supreme Court if necessary.

It is unfortunate that this case was bungled procedurally and that the courts will have to wait for some other brave parents to get fed up with the schools taking their power away.

Most good parents know that kids this age are not making a long-term decision when they decide to change their gender identity.

Parents should be the ones deciding how that plays out in their child’s life, not the school.

Scientists have issued a warning after a study predicted that global cancer deaths with surge by a staggering 75 percent over the next 25 years.

Major new research was published in The Lancet.

The study, conducted by a large team of international researchers, warns that global cancer deaths could climb to alarming levels by 2050.

They found that cancer cases worldwide have already doubled in the past three decades, from about 9 million in 1990 to 18.5 million in 2023.

During the same period, cancer deaths rose 74%, reaching 10.4 million last year.

By 2050, researchers project annual cancer cases will soar to 30.5 million, a 61% increase.

Annual deaths are expected to skyrocket to 18.6 million.

Demographics, Lifestyle, and Environmental Risks

While much of the increase is tied to an aging global population, the report makes clear that lifestyle and environmental risk factors are driving a massive share of the burden.

Researchers found that 42% of cancer deaths in 2023 could be attributed to 44 “modifiable” risk factors, including smoking, poor diet, high blood sugar, and exposure to toxins.

Tobacco use alone accounted for about 21% of global cancer deaths, according to the findings.

The study examined 47 cancer types across 204 countries between 1990 and 2023, projecting trends through mid-century.

Results show steep differences by region: Lebanon saw the highest rise in incidence and mortality rates (80%), followed by Equatorial Guinea (72%) and Laos (55.8%).

By contrast, the United Arab Emirates reported a 56% drop in incidence, and Kazakhstan recorded the largest mortality decline at 58.2%.

The U.S. and Australia both achieved major gains, reducing cancer deaths by more than 30%.

The U.K. saw a 23.4% decline.

Breast and Lung Cancers Lead

Breast cancer was the most commonly diagnosed cancer globally in 2023.

Tracheal, bronchus, and lung cancers remained the leading cause of cancer deaths.

Researchers warned that the burden will disproportionately hit low- and middle-income countries, which by 2050 are expected to account for more than half of all new cases and nearly two-thirds of cancer deaths.

Warnings From Experts

Michelle Mitchell, chief executive of Cancer Research U.K., said the findings highlight the urgency of stronger preventive measures:

“Smoking remains the leading cause of cancer and death in the U.K.”

She urged lawmakers to pass the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, expand HPV vaccination, and strengthen screening programs.

Dr. Lisa Force, assistant professor at the University of Washington and co-author of the study, cautioned that cancer control remains “underprioritized” in global health.

The study indicates that young, otherwise healthy individuals experienced troubling biological markers after their third mRNA shot.

Within just two days after the “booster” injection, participants exhibited acute systemic inflammation, coagulation abnormalities, and a significant suppression of key immune markers.

One of the most concerning results was the dramatic spike in inflammation markers.

The C-reactive protein (CRP), a well-known marker for systemic inflammation, increased sharply from 6.12 mg/L to 14.84 mg/L, which is considered a significant rise, with the study showing this change was statistically significant (p < 0.0001).

Similarly, another inflammation marker, high-sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP), doubled from 1.47 mg/L to 3.52 mg/L (p < 0.0001).

This surge suggests that even a “booster” dose of the “vaccine” could trigger a heightened inflammatory state in the body.

The researchers warn that the finding is deeply concerning, as chronic inflammation can lead to serious health issues in the long term.

In addition to the inflammation, markers for coagulation abnormalities were also found to have increased.

D-dimers, which are associated with clot formation, rose from 0.20 mg/L to 0.47 mg/L (p < 0.005).

Such increases are indicative of pro-thrombotic activity, meaning the body is more likely to form clots, a concern that could potentially lead to life-threatening conditions such as thrombosis or stroke.

These findings further highlight the severe risks posed by the mRNA “vaccines,” which some critics have long warned about regarding clotting and blood vessel damage.

Even more concerning, the study showed evidence of immune suppression following the third dose. Lymphocyte counts, essential components of the immune system, dropped significantly from 2.34 × 10⁹/L to 1.91 × 10⁹/L (p < 0.0005).

Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), a critical protein involved in antiviral defense, also decreased from 54.7 ng/mL to 46.1 ng/mL (p < 0.05).

These findings suggest that the immune response following a third dose may be blunted, increasing the vulnerability of vaccinated individuals to infections or other diseases due to weakened immune defenses.

The study also pointed out a disruption in the participants’ coagulation profile, which was concerning despite the lack of overt symptoms.
