Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is scrambling to walk back his China pivot after President Donald Trump threatened to hammer Canada with massive tariffs if Ottawa turns itself into a trade conduit for Beijing.
Carney now insists Canada has “no intention” of pursuing a free trade deal with the Chinese Communist Party.
It comes just days after President Trump warned that any such move would trigger a 100% tariff on Canadian exports entering the United States.
The sudden reversal follows a series of events that exposed Canada’s quiet but aggressive realignment toward Beijing.
Canada’s China Deal, Davos Speech, and the “New World Order”
Earlier this month, Carney travelled to China, where he pledged Canada’s support to the Chinese Communist Party.
While addressing the CCP leadership, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Carney vowed to help China lead the “new world order.”
The comment drew immediate backlash, with critics accusing Carney of selling North America out to Communist China.
Right before the World Economic Forum’s annual summit last week in Davos, Switzerland, Carney returned from Beijing and announced a new five-point “strategic partnership” with Communist China.
Carney said the deal is aimed at “diversifying our trade partnerships.”
The agreement included slashing Canadian tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles from 100 percent to 6.1 percent for the first 49,000 units, in exchange for China reducing tariffs on Canadian canola from 85 percent to 15 percent until at least the end of the year.
Other Canadian exports, including canola meal, lobsters, crabs, and peas, were also spared Chinese anti-discrimination tariffs until at least the end of 2026.
A week later, speaking to global elites in Davos, Carney openly questioned the post-World War II U.S.-led order.
He warned that the “rules-based order” established by the United States and its allies was fraying amid rivalry between China and America, declaring that “middle powers must act together because if we’re not on the table, we’re on the menu.”
Carney went further, arguing that nations should no longer “go along to get along” with Trump.
Trump Responds, Hard
That message did not go unanswered.
President Trump fired back on Truth Social on Saturday with a blistering warning:
“If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a ‘Drop Off Port’ for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken,” Trump wrote.
“China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the destruction of their businesses, social fabric, and general way of life.”
He added:
“If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the U.S.A.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Trump’s use of the title “Governor” echoed his past remarks toward former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, reflecting his long-held view that Canada survives economically and militarily under American protection.
On the sidelines of Davos, Trump doubled down.
“Canada gets a lot of freebies from us,” Trump said.
“By the way, they should be grateful also, but they’re not.
“Canada lives because of the United States.
“Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements.”
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reinforced the administration’s position on Sunday, warning that the United States could not “let Canada become an opening that the Chinese pour their cheap goods into the U.S.”
Carney “Clarifies”
Facing mounting pressure, Carney attempted damage control.
On Sunday, he told reporters that Canada would respect its obligations under the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA / USMCA) and would not pursue a free trade agreement without notifying Washington and Mexico City.
“What we have done with China is to rectify some issues that have developed in the last couple of years,” Carney said, adding that the arrangement was “entirely consistent with CUSMA.”
The clarification comes after Trump raised tariffs on Canadian goods from 25% to 35% in August 2025, signaling that Ottawa’s room to maneuver between Washington and Beijing is rapidly shrinking.
For now, Carney is insisting Canada is not cutting a China deal.
However, the globalist prime minister’s Beijing visits, tariff concessions, and Davos speeches suggest the real issue isn’t what Canada says publicly, but how far it was willing to go before Trump slammed the door shut.

Fewer Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week, underscoring strong job security as 2026 gets underway and reinforcing signs of a stable labor market under President Donald Trump’s second-term economic agenda.
The Department of Labor reported Thursday that 198,000 Americans filed first-time claims for state unemployment benefits.

Looking further back, data dating to 1967 show that initial jobless claims have been this low or lower only about 2.5 percent of the time.
Economists had expected 212,000 new claims.
The previous week’s total was also revised down slightly, from 208,000 to 207,000.

He declared that international cooperation is now crumbling as nations increasingly reject globalist institutions like the UN.

A disturbing crisis is emerging in Canada as the nation’s government-controlled socialized healthcare system aggressively prioritizes euthanasia over medical care.
Canada has seen a surge in citizens traveling abroad seeking medical care over fears of being railroaded into euthanasia by government-funded doctors or due to excessive hospital wait times as the nation’s socialized healthcare system prioritizes “assisted suicide” over expensive treatments.
More than 100,000 Canadians were forced to seek medical care outside the country last year, a new report has revealed.
The surge comes as the globalist Liberal Party government continues prioritizing assisted suicide over fixing Canada’s collapsing taxpayer-funded healthcare system.
A survey published in a report from the Fraser Institute found that 105,529 Canadians traveled abroad in 2025 to obtain non-emergency medical treatment.
Most of those who travelled abroad said they were unable or unwilling to endure Canada’s increasingly dangerous wait times, or they feared they would be pressured into euthanasia instead of treatment.
“Clearly, the number of Canadians who ultimately receive their medical care in other countries is not insignificant,” the institute concluded.

Months-Long Waits Drive Patients Out of Canada
The survey polled physicians across 12 major medical specialties, including orthopedic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, and internal medicine.
According to the findings, roughly 2.1 percent of Canadian patients sought non-emergency care outside the country in 2025.
Alberta reported the highest rate, with 3.0 percent of patients leaving Canada for treatment, while Newfoundland and Labrador recorded the lowest rate at 0.8 percent.
“In some cases, these patients may have needed to leave Canada due to a lack of available resources or a lack of appropriate procedures or technologies,” the report stated.
“In others, their departure may have been driven by a desire to return more quickly to their lives, to seek out superior quality care, or perhaps to save their own lives or avoid the risk of disability.”
The exodus comes as wait times continue to skyrocket.
Recent data show Canadians now wait an average of 28.6 weeks from a family doctor referral to receiving serious treatment, a figure that has tripled over the past 30 years.
Waitlists, Despair, and Assisted Suicide
Rather than addressing systemic failures, critics say the Liberal government has increasingly steered desperate patients toward euthanasia.
As wait times grow, reports indicate that some Canadians, particularly the sick, disabled, and elderly, are being forced into assisted suicide instead of enduring years without care or agressive pressured into “choosing” euthanasia.
Others who refused euthanasia have reported being labeled “selfish” by medical providers.
In one case, an Ontario physician disclosed that a middle-aged worker with debilitating ankle and back injuries felt government support was so inadequate that it was “leaving (him) with no choice but to pursue” euthanasia.
Another case involved an obese woman who described herself as a “useless body taking up space.”
A doctor reportedly argued she qualified for assisted suicide because obesity was considered a “grievous and irremediable” medical condition.
Relieving the Burden for the Greater Good
A growing number of hospital patients have been reporting that doctors are aggressively pressuring them into being euthanized instead of seeking treatment for their condition.
In many cases, a single lethal injection is far cheaper than long-term treatments, creating money-saving opportunities for care facilities.
As Slay News previously reported, the Canadian government is now saving tens of millions of dollars every year by euthanizing patients instead of treating them.
A study found that Canada’s healthcare system saves up to $136.8 million annually thanks to the government’s “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD) program.
However, critics are warning that vulnerable patients are being pressured into choosing death over “costly” care.
Tens of Thousands Die Waiting While MAiD Expands
More than 23,000 Canadians have died while stuck on medical waitlists as the Liberal government has aggressively expanded euthanasia access.
Since legalization, the government has expanded so-called MAiD 13-fold, making Canada’s euthanasia regime the fastest-growing in the world.
According to government data released in December, MAiD accounted for more than five percent of all deaths in Canada in 2024.
At the same time, Health Canada has continued exploring plans for advanced requests for assisted suicide, even as access to basic medical care deteriorates.
Internal documents from Ontario physicians in 2024 further revealed that many Canadians are choosing euthanasia due to poverty, isolation, and loneliness, not terminal illness.
A System in Moral Collapse
As tens of thousands flee the country for treatment, and many more die waiting, critics argue Canada’s health-care system is no longer merely broken, but morally inverted.
The government-controlled healthcare system is now quicker to offer death than care.
For many Canadians, the message from Ottawa is increasingly clear:

A leading China analyst is warning that the recent surge of anti–Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests across the United States may not be as organic as they appear, alleging that networks tied to the Chinese Communist Party could be covertly financing and directing the unrest.
Appearing Monday on Newsline, Asia analyst and author Gordon Chang said the Chinese Communist Party has a well-documented history of using proxies and intermediaries to destabilize adversaries while maintaining plausible deniability.
He argued similar tactics may now be playing out on American soil.
Chang, a member of the Conservative Political Action Conference board and author of “Plan Red: China’s Project to Destroy America,” said Beijing increasingly relies on third-party actors to funnel money and amplify messaging aligned with CCP strategic interests.
“A friend tells me that China appears to be behind events disrupting stability in both Syria and Venezuela,” Chang previously wrote on X, adding that Beijing is “acting through proxies to try and mask its involvement.”
On Newsline, he said the same playbook appears to be emerging in the United States.
Alleged Funding Pipeline Through U.S.-Based Intermediaries
According to Chang, one alleged conduit for influence runs through Neville Roy Singham, an American tech billionaire living in Shanghai who has drawn scrutiny from U.S. lawmakers for ties to organizations linked to the Chinese state.
Singham is married to a leader of Code Pink, a far-left activist organization that has been highly visible in protests opposing U.S. foreign and immigration policy.
Chang alleged that Singham functions as part of a broader influence operation that blends financial backing with coordinated propaganda amplification.
He said this activity aligns closely with CCP objectives.
He added that some U.S. officials believe individuals involved in recent demonstrations were not merely private Chinese citizens but operatives connected to CCP-linked networks.
Protests Intensify as Enforcement Ramps Up
Anti-ICE protests have intensified nationwide in recent weeks, driven by anger over stepped-up immigration enforcement and several high-profile confrontations between demonstrators and federal authorities.
The most significant flashpoint has been Minnesota, where protests in Minneapolis and St. Paul have at times turned confrontational.
Chang argued that the organization, tactics, and messaging bear striking similarities to the unrest that followed George Floyd’s death, suggesting that established activist networks are being “replayed” and repurposed.
Immigration enforcement, he said, has become a particularly effective pressure point for foreign adversaries seeking to inflame domestic divisions in the United States.
Broader Geopolitical Context
Chang placed the alleged activity within a wider geopolitical framework, pointing to instability in Venezuela, Iran, and the Middle East.
He argued that China, Russia, and Iran form an informal axis that benefits from chaos and polarization in democratic societies, including the United States.
Chang urged U.S. officials to take the allegations seriously and to dismantle what he described as CCP-linked funding and propaganda networks operating domestically.
While Beijing has repeatedly denied interfering in U.S. internal affairs, Chang warned that ignoring recurring patterns could leave the country vulnerable to sustained foreign manipulation.

One of Vladimir Putin’s senior advisors has reportedly revealed that the Russian government is “actively considering” a plan to trigger World War 3 by launching an unprecedented nuclear attack on Europe that would completely “eliminate the UK and Germany” in a single escalation.
The explosive warning was revealed by Tucker Carlson, who said the threat came directly from one of Putin’s closest strategic thinkers.
Carlson cited his recent interview with Sergey Karaganov, a longtime Kremlin insider widely viewed as reflecting Putin’s own strategic thinking.

Russia has also resumed testing its nuclear-powered Burevestnik missile, a weapon so destructive the United States abandoned a similar project decades ago.
Often described as a “doomsday” or “armageddon” weapon, the missile is designed to operate after a nuclear exchange, delivering radioactive devastation across vast distances.
Russian tests have reportedly left behind radioactive contamination and even dead nuclear specialists.
The U.S. once pursued a comparable weapon under Project Pluto in the 1950s, a nuclear-powered cruise missile meant to ensure no survivors after a global nuclear war.
The concept was ultimately shelved due to its uncontrollable lethality.
Trump, Testing, and the Nuclear Endgame
In October 2025, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would resume nuclear weapons testing, breaking with decades of restraint under Cold War-era treaties.

Andrew Lawton, a Conservative Member of Parliament, sounded the alarm in a video posted on X.
Lawton is urging Canadians to push back against what he described as a coordinated Liberal attack on religious liberty.
“Canadians need to stop the Liberal attack on religious freedom,” Lawton said.

Conservative MPs warn that the legislation could criminalize Biblical teachings on homosexuality and allow the prosecution of individuals who quote Scripture in good faith.
Liberals Invoke “MAGA” to Deflect Criticism
In response to Lawton’s video, Liberal MP John Paul Danko accused conservatives of importing American politics into Canada.
“Importing MAGA religious extremism to Canada, and complete alignment with @realDonaldTrump Anger, division and weird conspiracy theories – this is @PierrePoilievre‘s @CPC_HQ,” Danko wrote.
Lawton fired back, accusing Danko of openly endorsing the criminalization of religious texts.
“[Danko] says it’s ‘MAGA religious extremism’ to think Canadians shouldn’t be charged for quoting certain verses of the Bible or Torah, as his colleague Marc Miller says should happen,” Lawton responded.
“You should come out to one of our town halls, JP,” he added.
“You might learn something.”
Liberal Minister Previously Called for Jailing Christians
The controversy has intensified due to past remarks from Liberal MP Marc Miller, who previously stated that certain passages of the Bible are “hateful” because of what they say about homosexuality and argued that those who recite such passages should be jailed.
Miller was later appointed as a government minister by Canada’s globalist PM Mark Carney, raising further concerns among critics that these views are now shaping official government policy.
Bill C-9 Targets Religious Speech
Lawton has repeatedly warned that Bill C-9 is “very dangerous” legislation that squarely targets freedom of religion and expression.
“The bill is supposed to protect communities from hate, but actually will send people to jail for up to two years if they express a religious view or even cite a religious scripture the government finds offensive,” he said.
“My Conservative colleagues and I have been 100 percent clear.
“We have been unequivocal that we will not stand for this attack on religious freedom and freedom of expression for Canadians.”
The bill was introduced last year by Sean Fraser and has drawn fierce criticism from constitutional experts who warn it gives police and government officials sweeping discretion to punish speech based on subjective claims of offense or hurt feelings.
Religious Exception Removed
Adding to the backlash, the Carney government recently passed amendments removing a religious exemption from Bill C-9, meaning clergy, believers, and lay citizens would no longer be shielded from prosecution for quoting Scripture.
The move was condemned by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, which issued an open letter blasting the amendment and urging the Liberal government to reverse course.
Conservatives Mobilize Nationwide
Lawton is currently touring Canada, hosting “Religious Freedom” town halls, with a major event scheduled for January 20 in Brampton, Ontario, hosted alongside multiple Conservative MPs.
For critics, the direction is deeply disturbing.
Under Canada’s Liberal government, long-standing protections for religious expression are being dismantled, while opposition is dismissed as “extremism.”
