Bill Gates: Public Must Live ‘Like the Amish’ to Escape Coming AI Apocalypse

Blogger Comment: These words from this man are totally pathetic as usual and a centibillionare who knows nothing of the real struggles in life of humanity only the opposite and where I just cannot see why many people still cannot see through this Globalist mouthpiece for the Globalist elites (Gates is in the 2nd tier here and as all mouthpieces are, and only the face of the Globalists), as he is not for them or humanity per se, but a malevolent maniac of the highest order that creates and cause more human deaths in history behind the curtain that go into a slightly over 100 million a year with all he does, but with being a Foundation he pays no corporation tax and on average he makes 11.4% every year after giving 3% of his Foundations wealth to his external charities and NGO’s that he derives more not-taxable profits and where the man is complete con, leaving him with a profit of 8.4% of his wealth on average for himself and therefore he is not a philanthropist, but an aggressive wheeler dealer and no more, where it is all for himself…without paying a dim on corporation tax…that’s the real Gates…not a real charity giver and he fools the people continually…

Billionaire Bill Gates is warning that the general public will need to live “like the Amish” in the decades following the looming AI apocalypse.

Gates is warning that artificial intelligence could unleash two decades of upheaval, transforming human employment.

He argues that the shift will be so dramatic that it will leave people retreating toward an Amish-like way of life to avoid surrendering to the technology.

The Microsoft co-founder outlined a future in which machines could take over professional jobs and eventually perform physical tasks ranging from building homes to growing food and conducting surgery.

Speaking on the “Decoder” podcast with host Nilay Patel, Gates predicted “winners and losers and a lot of disruption” during a transition lasting roughly 20 years.

His October 22 interview was recorded just four days before Microsoft opened a voluntary exit program to approximately 60,000 eligible workers.

Microsoft is moving to drastically reduce its human workforce as the company transitions to AI-powered automation.

CNBC, Yahoo Finance and the Financial Times reported that the buyout is aimed at offsetting the costs of implementing AI infrastructure.

Gates Predicts Machines Will Transform Human Work

Gates said AI could reshape law, medicine, and education, with humanoid robots eventually pushing automation far beyond computer screens.

The timing remains uncertain, particularly for robots capable of handling complex physical work.

But the future he described would fundamentally change how people earn a living, and what role human labor plays in society.

Alongside promises of better healthcare and education, Gates acknowledged that the transition would produce sharp divisions between those who benefit and those who lose out.

For workers facing that disruption, the promised rewards could arrive long after their livelihoods have changed.

Amish Comparison Raises Question of Human Purpose

Gates suggested some people could respond by selectively rejecting technology, drawing a comparison with Amish communities.

Others could embrace life at the technological frontier.

“We’re going to have real choices,” Gates said.

He also suggested that childcare, cooking, sports, and art could remain deliberately human-led, even if machines eventually performed those activities more efficiently.

That vision turns preserving human work into a conscious decision: societies could reserve certain roles for people rather than automatically hand them over to machines.

Helping others and creating original work, Gates suggested, could continue to provide meaning in an increasingly automated world.

Gates Wants Governments to Take Charge of AI Safety

The billionaire also called for stronger government controls over advanced AI, arguing that rival technology companies cannot oversee the risks by themselves.

He warned that powerful systems could be misused for cyberattacks or biological harm.

His proposed response would give governments greater responsibility for setting safety standards as the technology becomes more capable.

The forecast combines sweeping promises with sweeping risks: machines delivering new services and efficiencies while disrupting employment and creating threats that developers cannot safely manage alone.

Microsoft Offers Exit Program to More Than a Quarter of Workforce

Days after the interview, Microsoft announced a voluntary exit offer covering approximately 60,000 eligible employees, roughly 27% of its reported full-time workforce.

The program applies to qualifying staff at internal level 70 and below in participating teams across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and India.

Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer Amy Coleman said participants could receive financial support and career-planning assistance.

Microsoft has not disclosed how many employees have accepted.

It also rejected suggestions that the program was driven by AI automation and disputed describing it as a buyout.

Gates’ comments were separate from that announcement.

His warning, however, reaches much further than one company’s workforce: decades of disruption, machines performing more of humanity’s work, and a future in which people may have to decide which parts of human life they refuse to automate.
