Alarming new data out of Belgium is fueling growing concern over the rapid expansion of state-sanctioned euthanasia, with record numbers of citizens now being killed under the country’s “assisted suicide” regime.
Official figures show that in 2025, a staggering 4,486 people were euthanized.
The data reveal that euthanasia now accounts for 4% of all deaths nationwide.
The death toll for 2025 marked a 12.4% increase from the previous year.
Non-Terminal Patients Among Those Euthanized
Perhaps most troubling, nearly a quarter of those euthanized were not expected to die in the near term from natural causes.
Data summarized by Right to Life UK reveals that 24.9% of individuals who died through euthanasia were suffering from conditions such as depression, PTSD, blindness, or other non-terminal ailments.
Among them were 151 cases involving “cognitive disorders” or “psychiatric disorders,” representing a 36% increase from the year before.
More than 92% of those patients were not terminally ill.
Since Belgium legalized euthanasia in 2003, over 42,000 people have died through the program.
The number has skyrocketed year after year, from just 235 cases in its first year.
Expansion of Eligibility Raises Ethical Concerns
Belgium’s euthanasia law does not require patients to be near death.
Since 2014, the Belgian government has even begun euthanizing minors.
In 2025, one minor was euthanized under the law.
Critics argue that what was once presented as a tightly controlled, last-resort option has evolved into a far broader system, one that now includes individuals suffering from psychological distress rather than terminal illness.
In response to the data, Catherine Robinson of Right to Life UK said:
“It is heartbreaking to hear of the increasing number of people who are ending their lives in Belgium as a result of assisted suicide or euthanasia.
“It is particularly distressing to hear that so many of these people did not have deaths that were to be reasonably expected to occur in the short term.”
“People with physical or psychological suffering deserve to receive the care and support necessary to reduce their suffering while allowing them to continue living,” she added.
“The state should not be enabling their suicide.”

The Canadian socialized healthcare system’s taxpayer-funded “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD) program is facing renewed scrutiny over the killing, raising serious ethical and moral concerns.
John Maloney, an Alberta man who was not terminally ill, was euthanized after being approved under Canada’s “Track 2” MAiD category.
Track 2 allows individuals with non-terminal conditions to qualify.
However, Maloney was euthanized because of poor eyesight caused by congenital cataracts.
Although he could still see, the condition meant he was visually impaired and classed as being partially blind.
Man Approved for Euthanasia After Multiple Assessments
Maloney reportedly suffered from congenital cataracts, partial blindness, and Charles Bonnet Syndrome, a condition that can cause visual hallucinations.
After a previous suicide attempt in 2024, he was put forward for euthanasia through Canada’s “assisted suicide” system.
His first assessor denied his request, but a second approved it, with a third reportedly concurring following what was described as a “quality of life evaluation.”
“If someone else in my exact same position can live their life, I say, ‘Go hard,’” Maloney said.
“If you have a right to choose to live, then I have the right to choose to die.

Maloney also acknowledged religious concerns.
He stated that while suicide is traditionally condemned, he believed God “gets it.”

Oklahoma lawmakers are advancing a chilling plan to begin using decomposed human remains as soil fertilizer to grow food for public consumption.
Despite a widespread backlash, the state is pushing forward with controversial legislation to legalize “human composting.”
The move is igniting outrage from conservatives who warn that the state is adopting policies long associated with radical blue-state agendas.
The Oklahoma State House passed HB 3660 in a 59–37 vote, advancing a measure that would classify “natural organic reduction” (NOR), commonly referred to as human composting, as a form of cremation under state law.
Conservatives Warn of ‘Disturbing’ Shift
State Rep. Jim Shaw (R-OK) blasted the bill, warning it represents a fundamental departure from conservative principles.
“Today, the House advanced HB3660, a bill to legalize the use of composted human bodies as fertilizer,” Shaw said.
“If this bill is put into law, Oklahoma joins 14 BLUE states that have legalized this process.
“So, instead of outlawing this type of practice outright, we’re on track to take the use of humanure as fertilizer another disgusting step forward.”
Republican Lawmakers Lead the Push
The bill is sponsored by State Rep. Eddy Dempsey (R-OK) and State Sen. Casey Murdock (R-OK), both representing rural districts.
Despite Oklahoma’s Republican supermajority, the legislation passed with support from 43 GOP lawmakers.
Thirty-six Republicans and one Democrat voted against it.
Oklahoma House Speaker Kyle Hilbert (R-OK) also backed the measure.
Heated Exchange on House Floor
Shaw confronted Dempsey directly before the vote, pressing him on whether human remains should be used as fertilizer.
“I just gotta ask, do you really believe that human remains, or even my favorite subject, human poop, are okay as compost or fertilizer?” Shaw asked.
“Do you really believe that?”
“In this situation, yes,” Dempsey replied.
Shaw later warned that the vote exposes a deeper ideological shift inside the state legislature.
“This is not a conservative policy at all, but it is being passed by a supposed conservative legislature in Oklahoma that’s really not nearly as conservative as what they claim to be,” he said.
Following the Blue-State Playbook
If signed into law, Oklahoma would join a list of states, including California, New York, Oregon, and Washington, that have already legalized human composting.
Notably, those states are overwhelmingly Democrat-controlled or left-leaning.
The measure now heads to the Oklahoma State Senate, where conservatives hope it will be blocked.
“On the Senate side, we have a stronger conservative group of senators, and so it is possible, and hopefully likely… that the Senate will kill it,” Shaw said.

Shaw also warned that the bill builds on existing practices involving biosolids, often referred to as “humanure,” already used as fertilizer in parts of Oklahoma.

“This bill would take that practice to another level. It’s disturbing to say the least.”

Family Rejects Lucrative Deal to Preserve Land
Ida Huddleston and her family own roughly 1,200 acres of farmland outside Maysville.
In April, an unnamed Fortune 100 AI company approached them with an offer to purchase about half the property.
Huddleston’s daughter, Delsia Bare, made clear the family has no intention of selling, regardless of the price.
“Stay and hold and feed a nation,” Bare told Local 12 News.
“My grandfather and great-grandfather and a whole bunch of family have all lived here for years, paid taxes on it, fed a nation off of it,” she said.
“Even raised wheat through the Depression and kept bread lines up in the United States of America when people didn’t have anything else.”

“That’s the exact same thing for me right here.
