The globalist technocrats running the European Union (EU) have officially fired their first shot in a long-planned crackdown on online dissent, slamming Elon Musk’s X with a €120 million ($140 million) fine.
The huge fine is the first major punishment under the EU’s censorship behemoth, the Digital Services Act (DSA).
Brussels claims this is about “transparency.”
It’s not. It’s a power play.
The authoritarian strike from unelected foreign bureaucrats is a direct assault on the only major social platform that still allows ordinary people to speak without permission from the regime.
EU Bureaucrats Rage Over X Freeing the Public from Their Gatekeeping
The EU’s first complaint is that X’s paid “blue check” verification system “confuses” users.
They’re furious that for $8, anyone can get a blue check.
The “old Twitter” regime used to reserve the elitist blue badges exclusively for approved journalists, EU-friendly activists, and regime influencers.
The ruling class lost its monopoly on “verified” status, and they’ve been raging ever since.

EU officials also accuse X of not giving enough access to researchers, meaning the taxpayer-funded NGOs and “experts” who exist purely to justify new censorship campaigns.
However, these so-called “research institutes” are left-wing activism mills whose mission is to label conservative speech as “extremism” so Brussels can pressure platforms to purge it.

The EU is already preparing more charges over “illegal content” and “manipulation,” code words used anytime conservatives are trending or populist narratives gain traction.
Essentially, the EU is demanding that platforms must censor on command, or Brussels will try to bankrupt them.

While European nations roll over, America still has leaders willing to speak plainly.
Vice President JD Vance wrote on X:
“Rumors swirling that the EU commission will fine X hundreds of millions of dollars for not engaging in censorship.
“The EU should be supporting free speech, not attacking American companies over garbage.”
Musk hasn’t provided a detailed response to the EU officials’ demands.
Nevertheless, he signaled agreement with Vance’s warning.
TikTok Gets a Pass
Meanwhile, the EU dropped its TikTok probe with zero fines.
The Chinese-owned app promised a few cosmetic changes.
This obedience was apparently enough to gain a free pass for the Chinese Communist Party-linked platform.
DSA Fines Can Reach 6% of Global Revenue
Eurocrats are accused of shaking down and extorting American companies simply because they won’t impose globalist-approved thought policing.
The EU openly claims to champion “transparency,” yet when reporters asked how officials calculated the €120 million penalty, the unelected European Commission refused to reveal the math.

Socialists Cheer as Brussels Tightens Its Grip
Left-wing MEPs are celebrating the crackdown as if it were a Soviet show trial.

Brussels can repeat the talking point that the DSA is about “transparency, not censorship.”
